I like the drawn in command key.

You can tell it's real because it says "This is real." on it.

If you don't care about it being brand new:

'MacUser' did an article in their magazine recently, on how to buy a mac for $300, which proved extremely cool.

Check out their magazine www.macuser.co.uk, it should help, and you can always follow their guide even if you plan to spend say $700

Don't even consider a G4 iBook

Don't consider a used G4 iBook. If the main logic unit hasn't gone AWOL yet, it's probably because it's just about to. When mine went about 3+ years ago I took it in to a specialist Mac laptop repairer. He took me to his back room, where he showed me a stack of the various sizes of iBooks about 4 feet high and 3 laptops wide. All of them had had logic unit failures, just like mine. At that time a new logic unit in the UK was around £450 plus fitting - not worth it.

Last summer, I sold my black 2007 2.16 Ghz 13" Macbook, with a 250GB HD and 2GB RAM, to a friend for €500. I needed a MBP so that I could run a full HD projector and watch the laptop screen for presenting photos to clients and for teaching photo students. The original MB does not have enough power in its video system to do this, otherwise it is an excellent machine.

You could get the MacBook which is 999 and i think it's 899 with educational discount or you could get the Mac Mini for 599 with the same specs, i guess the Mini could be a good choice since you don't have to break the bank when a new one comes out like with an iMac because you only pay for stuff excluding a new display and so on, better get a new mac with apple care than a G4 which could breakdown anytime

Oh. my bad. I didn't realize it was fraud.

If you ever lie to get something, it's fraud. Such as putting in a fake name, fake birthday, fake education etc.

If you have a friend who is in education, ask them to buy you it. But don't even think about committing fraud, it's not worth it.

P.S: Refurbs tend to go for the same amount a new one would on the education discount (Students get no discount on refurbs) So just buy a refurb.

Your friend is in education and he's the one making the purchase, so there's nothing wrong with that.

Is it a good idea to purchase a refurbished MBP? I want to replace my MB with a MBO. Also, can i use my student discount with refurb purchases?
Can someone also explain the difference between the glossy screen and matte screen?

Discounts cannot be combined.

Glossy screens are reflective but tend to have more vivid colors. Matte screens are duller but have no reflections.

Troll the refurb page @ apple.com

You will find some pretty great deals there. Warranty with refurbs but not usually the case with craigslist & ebay!
