So does Dark Mode integrate with 3rd party apps at all? For example, if I enable dark mode on iOS 13, will it trigger supported apps that also have a dark mode? Or will all 3rd party apps have separate settings that need to be enabled?

Shame there’s no new live wallpapers. Thanks for the info :)
If Apple is doing away with 3D Touch, then that's probably why they're not giving much attention to the feature. Or maybe the rumored haptic touch feature in the iPhone XI will include new live wallpapers.

I hope it's not true black on LED displays. On displays without true-blacks I feel like a dark grey Mojave approach would be much better personally. Still, I'm glad this is here.

I am still trying to figure out what is all the hype about "dark mode".

You know I was of the same mindset. Now however, I'm genuinely excited for it.

Not to mention the purported battery savings. This actually has turned out to be huge.

Well done Apple.

It will, there's an API.

I like it. And that’s all that really matters.

Lol, I get up early and live in an open ceiling house. Turning on the house lights usually waits until after others wake up. Dark mode is welcome here.

I have a feeling no matter what they have you, you would still complain
That’s a ridiculous comment. I specifically have been wanting this for years. It kills me that you can get it easily on Android.

Samsung Browser on Android is what I wanted. A dark background instead of white on websites. Shame.

This.

It doesn’t. Every app will need to be manually enabled that too if they have a dark mode.

Even Safari doesn’t have Dark Mode.

The industry is clearly out of ideas at the moment, so minor features that have been kicking around unimplemented are being pushed into service as marquee upgrades.

apple borrowing innovation from the jailbreak community again....I have had dark mode for years and years now but to see implementation so similar to the jailbreak tweaks is shocking

I for one am so tired of the light mode. Having experienced UI shifts for some decades I can tell you that dark mode may be a great option. Not to mention the implication of saving battery all the way with a true OLED display.

Seriously - I don't know why but first thing I did on Windows Phone was setting it to dark. I really prefer the looks of it.

As long as nobody longs for the bubblegum look of OS X Cheetah anymore...

Other than minute battery savings with OLED equipped devices, what is so obvious? Since you are so capable of identifying them, mind to show a list instead of giving an empty reply?

I guess so far nobody measured the effect - but given that more than half of your battery energy goes into powering the display I tend to believe the effect will be more than "minute battery saving".

As a father of two little kids this is a great feature. Why?

- Your wife will probably allow to use your phone in the bed because the display is not that bright anymore
- You can still use your phone while your are next to your kids in the bed and they are not effected by bright light and can sleep faster and better
- Your eyes are much more relaxed while looking on a dark screen
