Great. Now, why is it only available in the US?
Because Apple has to optimize it get contracts with publishers for other markets first.
You don't want to add your own news sources and possibly in "unoptimized" layout on top of that yourself, now do you?

Why does it only work on WIFI?

Whenever I am out and waiting around like at a restaurant or for my wife to finish shopping I am granted with the following message on my screen...

Your iPhone is offline.

You can turn off Airplane Mode or turn on WI-FI in Settings.

I can fully use my other apps and browse the web yet the news program (even the new beta on on iOS Beta 10) gives me the same error message.

In addition to these design changes, Apple News will now send notifications to users whenever there's a must-read breaking news story anything our advertisers say they want tagged as must read or breaking
Fixed.

I tried it when it first came out and I was disappointed. It seemed to work like Zite and Flipboard. I dismissed it after a couple of days.

I tried it again after their last update, much better. I've been checking it daily. I caught myself using it first thing this morning. I'm glad they will be using bolder type and hopefully, a choice of text size. There are several complete articles now.

I used Apple News at the start but they must have changed the way it updates and now it's really annoying - it jumps to the first article when it updates/opens which means you then have scroll down to where you left off, and then go back to the top. I hardly use it now.

But then, I wouldn't be experiencing the Apple experience, wouldn't I?

I like the News app and use daily. It is fantastic. The video failed to mention the news alerts and the ability to sort the favorites. Also, you can add individual news sites or just topics of interest to your favorites list. I like how the new News app will be grouping stories together by topics. Sweet.

Maybe I missed it somewhere in the release, but will the new News app allow you to configure your own channels?

It does that already. So if you lonely like race cars you will only see race car related news if you added race cars as a topic to your favorites.

More access to the lame steam news. The news app is the first thing I'm deleting when I finally update

Lol. with the ability to delete apps on iOS and not ever having use or see them ever again, I can't help to think the naysayers will still have something to say. "God" bless America.

Anybody heard of "Smartnews" app? It's a simple, universally resourced app that has all sources of information and the layout is good. I recommend THAT app over Apple's standard which is also useless because many news apps that existed before is already there to satisfy our news needs. Once iOS 10 lands, Apple News app goes too.

Really nice, thought I doubt I'll use it. So many of the news stories that I read on mobile are discovered by articles that come up in my feed on Facebook.

I'm not thrilled with the text changes but the sections will be an improvement. What the app really needs is a way to get back to your main feed from a third or fourth level article. So many of the articles have good links embedded or recommended at the end. It doesn't take long to be four or five deep from the original, but there's nothing like a "home" button. It's like the Apple TV...you just click 'back' over and over again to get to the main screen.

Something like Giphy's approach would be great. Tap the back icon twice in quick succession and get sent all the way back.
