Just got my 6+ and realized that there is about 1/2 of gap between the screen and the silver housing. The gap looks like the screen is not sealed properly, it's located right above your earphone insert. Take a look...

I might go exchange it because looks like water may get inside. Let me know if any of you also have the gap.

Have you tried pressing this section of the screen back into the housing? On the 5/5s, the tabs on the assembly are at the earpiece side, and the bottom portion snaps in place. Sent from my iPhone.

I tried returning my 5S for a recessed lock button but they turned me away saying it's just cosmetic, as long as the phone works we aren't going to give you another one. I have the 6 Plus and I do not have that gap.

You can always return it and then repurchase... That's messed up that they didn't replace it for you. Maybe you should call apple and get a senior advisor in the mix.

Mine looks fine to me...and yours does too. What brown thing you're seeing could be just some adhesive.

What unit of measure is "1/2 a gap"?

ya I did... there's no clip there. I guess I am not the only person that have this problem.

Update:
Returned it and got a new one. They saw the phone and agreed that there's a defect. Looks like I am not the only one: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1784043/

Thankfully when I took it to Verizon they looked at it saw what I was talking about. They swapped the phone for another and it was all good.

After a day of use I have the same tiny space. I can press down on it and it briefly closes and stays closed.

Although I exchanged it, it was a bad experience for me... First I had to make sure they still have the 6+ in stock, based on the 1-800 CS rep and the instore CS rep, all exchange of an iphone 6/6+ are subjected to first comes first serve! Yes that is correct!! Normally you would think that they'll keep some stocks in the back for exchanges, but nope. lol. I was lucky to get a replacement of my 6+ silver 64gb, I had to ask them to put one on the side for me and wait on the genius bar til it's my turn.

1/2"? That's a bit of hyperbole, judging by the picture.

ya remember the 6+ is pretty big.

That's awesome. When I said I took it back to Verizon I was talking about my iPhone 5S. I have the 6 Plus with the same gap you had but I pressed down on that are and I think so far it looks like it went back into place.

My guess is apple adheres the screen to case with 3m tape like the iPad Air (unlike 5c and 5s) probably wasn't assembled correctly or forgot the adhesive???

I have this issue, although very subtle. Subtle to the point I'm embarassed to even bring it in as the amount of flex is almost imperceptible. You can feel a slightly rougher edge than the top two corners is about it.

I think I'm going to live with it.
