Update: Got off the phone with both Apple and Verizon this afternoon. This doesn't seem to be a random issue. VZW Support sent me to manager and I showed him this post. They're having an internal pow wow with Apple about it on Monday and ill be getting a call on Tuesday letting me know the outcome (either way im getting it exchanged, it just depends whether they're going to make it a known issue or not).

I have a little "dent" in the plastic on the corner of my black iPhone 4S between the glass and the metal band. It's interesting that other are seeing the same issue. I'll probably live with it since I use a case anyway that completely covers the "dent.". Plus, I don't feel like going through the hassle of an exchange...

Haven't noticed any dents in my VZW white 32gb, but my home button is most definitely crooked - the square is not flush at all and it's driving me nuts. Need to get it replaced before I get my Lifeproof case in, don't want to have to put that one on twice!

With regards to my chip/dent, after speaking with AppleCare I emailed some photos to the call centre duty manager. Everything was organised, DHL were going to bring me a new handset, in exchange for the old one etc. 2 hours later I received a phone call from the same manager stating that because I sent the email to another department within Apple and they had seen the pictures, a brand new one would be sent to me on priority with accessories and the damaged one would be collected at my convenience by DHL so the phone can be "captured". I have been called and emailed by a lady from "Apple Executive Relations EMEIA" (whatever that means) in Cork, Ireland who has told me to contact her directly via phone or email if I have any other issues. She has been very apologetic and has given me their DHL account number to arrange collection .... the funny thing is, the only other person I sent the email to was Tim Cook who I BLIND carbon copied on the off chance that he or someone from his team would see the photos. Obviously it's worked to some extent! Send me the photos of your dents/chips and I will forward them on to her as it's obviously a major QC issue!

hmm looks like a serious QC issue, Perhaps this will be the crack books all over again.... of powermac g4 cube all over again...

4 out of 4 million....

I wouldn't call that a "serious QC" issue based on one thread on some website..... Serious QC can only be determined with larger sample sizes.

Statistics 101.

Edit: And no I am not saying there aren't others with problems with their phones, and I'm not saying there isn't a QC issue. I'm just pointing out that comparing this to any other products with QC issues is a stretch at this point

Mine has a small dent too. Sigh. Not sure if it's worth the anxiety of having to show that to someone and convince them it's a flaw.

Yup, my white 4S had some dirt or something stuck in between the antenna and the body. I immediately called it out to the AT&T guy, and he unboxed a new one on the spot.

Definitely return/replace that for a brand new one.
