"I have the power, so you have to all obey me,, and if you don't , we will disallow" lol Chine vs others

Google: Gilens and Page Princeton University. You will find hard evidence that US regime responds purely to the desires of the rich. What the US commoners think had utterly zero effect on what govt chooses to do.

So Apple is not going to be fooled by the kind of propaganda that little folks fall for.

I don't think Apple, or any others, have a choice... The only way is stop manufacturing in China. And since we rey on China for mos things, it seems they have control. Theirs always being done on barley exports from Australia to China being banned..

If China hates what others say, they will just wipe it off the grid. Since a large part relies on them in the fist place, Apple's hands are tied

Fixed it for you. I don't suspect any country listens to regular people who don't have any special influence.
No need for anecdotes and speculation. Work with facts:
- If you look at the Democracy index some countries have politics that responds to the people. Norway or Finland for example.
- We have the research by Gilens and Page that the US does not have a functioning democracy over a two decade period already

Those are the facts. And Apple is run by intelligent people who do understand that and aren’t going to view what the Chinese govt is saying in the same way that Flag-waving yahoos on the street might.

As for statements that they are doing jobs that others don't want to do - the statement should be that they are doing jobs at prices others can't afford to be paid.
True, because consumers are unwilling to pay extra, in most cases, for products made in country. People complain about Walmart destroying small shops but the same people shop at Walmart because it was cheaper than their neighborhood store. There are often Made in XX options but most consumers buy the cheaper options. As a result, manufacturing moves overseas since that is the only way to compete if the jobs are labor intensive.

We have met the enemy, and he is us.

"Facts" are only as credible as the source. Facts from MSNBC say Trump compares to Hitler. Facts from the local church around here say I'm going to hell if I don't get saved. Facts from a UK company AKA a privately funded branch of what we call in the USA, a three letter agency will give us facts that support their cause. Gilens and Page will give us facts based on their agenda. I know it makes people sound smart when they quote these sources but we're not talking about one plus one equals two. There's a lot of room to make up facts to push an agenda. Every government in the world to include China and the USA does this.

As I said in my post you quoted... America isn't a democracy, never has been, it is a Constitutional Republic. That isn't a meaningless distinction as there are differences. In a democracy the government responds purely to the will of the people. In a Constitutional Republic, such as America, the Government takes the will of the people under advisement and then governs in a manner that can be different than what the people directly want. In the US system that is designed so that minority political interests have a proper role and political compromise must be reached in order to govern.

The system protects the interests of those with capital and power first, but this has always been the case in the US. When the country was founded only landowners were even allowed to vote and have any representation at all...

But irrespective of debates on how good or bad American democracy is or isn't. The core question is how will China and the US co-exist and it doesn't look like either country wants a world where they are listening to the other. As a result, we're in a new "Cold War" era with the US and China both drawing lines of power and spheres of control (see China's Belt and Roads initiative as they attempt to pull countries to their side). This geo-political turmoil is going to make it riskier and riskier for American companies to operate in China.

I also don't see America going to a state where they bow to China and accept China's will being imposed on the US. Not without a war to force that hand. It is why, for instance, you see America taking an increasingly aggressive stance against China even as supplies are needed in the immediate term from China to combat COVID-19/SARS-COV-2. As I mentioned previously, America has island nation syndrome and is unlikely to "bow" and I think China is unlikely to "bow" as well.

Trashing the messenger, just because you dont like the message, isn't just cliche, it's just plain wrong.

When you are willing to trash respected academics, just because you dont like the facts, I dont think you have any foundation to talk on any subject. All you can manage in that case is just an empty shouting match in which you learn nothing.

Later man - ignorance is not something I participate in, or condone. I'm out.

Here is a questi

However, your nation is very authoritarian and close to socialism which your president hates and is trying to prevent, prefer to call Trump a patriot who loves his country and all Americans should, but how can you let Muslim TLaib say stuff un-American ? Why do so many young Americans want communism or socialism ?? These don’t work and here it never worked. I am authoritarian fascist myself, and hate communists.

So, while America may be a constitutional republic, it sounds more like authoritarian republic given how the government is controlling society.

Uh no - the core question is: is the USA currently an unreliable counterparty. That's the point of the discussion. And indeed the US is an unreliable counterparty, sliding worse and worse, in tact with the decline in its political institutions. Currently the country is run by a family mafia that appears to even have either nihilist tendencies or a level of greed so high and intelligence so low that it adds up to nihilism.

That's a classic formula for how you end up as an unreliable counter party.

Trashing the messenger? LMAO... I can find respected academics a.k.a. college professors that will say anything. They're only respected by the people who agree with them. No one is shouting here so you can take out your earplugs. Just in case you didn’t know shouting in text is indicated by the use of capital letters. So the next time you feel like shouting at a Trump supporter but must text it just type in ALL CAPS. Also you’ll sound much cooler if you say later dude instead of later man. People might even mistake you for shaggy.

Just like Ukraine is run by oligarchs, are there American oligarchs ?

Bush the Spymaster President. Bush the Spymaster's son president. The other Bush son who was almost president instead of Trump. The Bush Grandson in Texas being grooomed for their future generation.

The Koch family of Billionaires, puppetting almost every insidious political astroturfing organisation out there

The Clinton President. The Evita Clinton who they almost installed as president, but now caught in a war with the Trump oligarchy.

The Trump family gang, choking the White house as we speak

Ever heard of the Waltons?

What would it take for you to understand American Oligarchy? You think they are not oligarchs unless they have names that end in "...inski"? For real? Wake up....

These people are trashing the country and it is why we end up in a situation where other people are looking at us as a basket case...an unreliable counterparty.
