EVERY DAMN TIME I read it as "China Unicorn" and get utterly confused for a second.

Make a bunch of factories over there, get plenty of cheap labor to make the products, then have them ship it over here, only to package it and sell it back to them at full subsidized retail value.

Now, that's capitalism, baby!

"Designed by Apple in California"

Really only a three year deal, ugh why does there have to be a deal at all?

So is that company the AT&T of the USA? hmm dont think any other network be worse then AT&T.

And I don't think the iphone in china is a big deal, for one they way better phones that do so much more then phones in the US does.

would it have MMS and tethering?

I'm sure there are iphones floating around over there...

well, it IS china... shouldn't that read:

"communication" and "information."

or at least they get a tiny, tiny subset of the internet. that should be enough for them. thanks apple.

Delivery

I hope they all get free overnight deliveries since the iPhones are made in their backyard.

Finally...

I was about to say the same thing. You beat me to it. With the ~10 previous threads on speculation of a China iPhone deal, I think everyone has pretty much already discussed everything.

It will be interesting now to see how many iPhones are sold in China and how the government decides to regulate the iPhone (this could be a regretful hell for Apple with the App store. How can you possibly censor all ~1 billion 3rd party Apps?)

Anyone Care To Comment?

Does anyone else feel bad for the Chinese people? They're kept in the dark regarding all current events and fed blanket lies regarding their government.

They don't get WiFi because the networks their phones might join aren't guaranteed secure against anti-government news / information and their choices are curtailed in an attempt to keep them in the dark . (not that they're apprised of their situation to begin with).

I wish more than anything that there was a way for Apple or some other independent organization / group to enlighten the people.... Facts only, no opinion.

My most vivid memory is of an extremely affluent Chinese girl who went on spring break with us to ************ who surfed the net on my laptop and read about what really happened in Tienanmen Square... I found her crying on the stoop outside our hotel room....

The people deserve a chance to learn the truth, regardless of whether or not they decide to believe it.

.........
I don't know how I really feel, but it seems like those companies who work so hard to enter the market of a country who's people are so carefully lied to has no care for the people themselves, only about net profits... God I wish we as a people were more than we appear to be...... It seems we are not.
