Well, I like those numbers. That certainly makes me feel better about wanting a laser in the first place.

Ever hear of ink4ever.com? Are they reputable?

Wait... never mind them. I can't seem to find anything compatible with Samsung's CLP-315/XAA. Tanj in that.

Okay, now you're making numbers up. I've NEVER had an ink cartridge last for that few sheets! I've always gotten over 200 color or grayscale with our printer. Do you do full-color, full-paper work or something?
I have never had an HP inkjet printer cartridge to last through more than a ream of 8.5 x 11 paper in normal usage. I have also had them to clog-up after printing a single page. Printing photographs and other full-page coverage documents can result in couple of dozen pages before even good cartridges must be replaced.

I've heard of them, but I don't remember ordering from them.

Cool. I'll just try someone safe, then.

I hate to be a "What about this place?" person, but...

What about this place?

They're apparently all certified and whatnot by places that I know are reputable. The only problem that I have with them is that they claim to still have cartridges for the Apple LaserWriter/StyleWriter lines! Wouldn't they... not... by now?

Actually, know what, never mind. I found the toner cartridge models that I need on Newegg for even less. Of course. Thanks for all of your help, nanofrog!

I'm glad it helped. :)

OK...after much consideration and link checking and pondering and comparing and reviews......whew.......I have made a decision.

I have purchased the Brother HL 4070 CDW. The link to Newegg was perfect and the price was hard to beat!

I choose this one because of what AB2650 (I think) said........the idea of printing while I was in the john was just too hard to pass up! hehe

I also ordered another black high capacity cartridge as they appeared to be about $20 cheaper IF you purchased the printer at the same time. That free shipping was enticing as well.

Thank you ALL for your input and feedback. You are an invaluable resource and I for one am VERY glad to have found this forum.

I will post back in a while (a few weeks/months) to report on my satisfaction level with this new toy!

Tatmoof :apple: (Macbook 13", Macbook Pro, PowerMac G3)
(for those who know, the moof is VERY intentional)

Congrats on the purchase! The liberty of being able to work on the john is a double-edged sword. ;)

I'm back.....

Thanks alpha, nano and ab for your congratulations on the new Brother purchase. It is a nice machine and the test prints are fabulous. Can't wait to actually USE it. Therein lies the problem....

I was pretty sure I had read on one of the forums that using the wireless function required a bit of tweaking. But I will be darned if I can find any of those threads now.......grumble, gripe....

It works just fine when tethered to cables and although wireless is absolutely not necessary, printing those things from the john will go undone:D until I resolve this.

It seems that the wireless connection always results in a "connection ng" (connection no good) every time I follow the instructions for setup. Somewhere in the back of my foggy old brain I think I recall I have to do something with the airport to enable it to see the printer.

I did a forum search and did not come up with anything pertinent. I may be searching under the wrong keywords?

anyone have any recollection where this thread is/was or has an idea of what I am supposed to turn off/on?

Thanks again for all the assist.

Expecting to not find any answers on the Brother support page lead me to post the above questions. Boy was I wrong!!! I guess we have all just gotten so used to 3rd party companies making things they SAY will be happy with our machines, but hardly are or it is not as simple as they represent.

I went to the Brother support page and within about 2 minutes was able to get very clear, concise and easy to follow instructions on what I needed to do to make this all work with my Airport.

I am happy to report that I have resolved this and now ALL of the capable computers are happily printing things........and yes......even from the john:D
