I've heard Bale mentioned before about a Jobs film; perhaps he'll be great, especially for an older Jobs. Ashton Kutcher pulled off a pretty good Steve Jobs already, but he probably wouldn't be good for what a more mature Jobs would mandate.

Does it really matter about appearance though? Did anyone post about Jordan Beaufort in Wolf of Wall Street before they saw that DiCaprio looks nothing like him? Probably not.

I know you mentioned that it's not all about appearance, but no; it's really not.

Makeup artists can do an amazing job getting actors to look like the people they're playing, though it helps that Bale resembles Steve Jobs somewhat. But more importantly, he's a very good actor. I was especially impressed by his performance in American Psycho back in 2000. Interestingly, his character in that movie was named Bateman, so all he had to do to play the Dark Knight was drop an "e."

Umm... they made ONE. And it sucked. It was just barely above the "made for tv" class.
Technically two since there was a much earlier TNT TV movie (which was rather good, but didn't cover anything as far as what happened when Steve returned to Apple, which is probably what most in the general public know him for). Certainly plenty of room for more stories and different productions of it all.

I'm Jobs, Man.

You are speaking about Pirates of Silicon Valley which is probably the best tech movie ever made. Steve liked Noah Wyle so much in the role that he invited him to open an Apple event for him.

The first one was clearly trying to cash in as quickly as possible on his passing. A decent film takes years to make and will/should be the clear standout therefore there will be no need to make one every 2 years.

It just surprises me how people state things like 'do we really need another one' as though hundreds have been made.

who said anything about hundreds?

Steve jobs (Batman voice): Tell me where are the other android devices are going
Fandroid: I swear to god i don't know.
Steve jobs (Batman voice): Swear to me!!!

Wondering how Bale will look

He's a good match considering the younger steve. I wonder how Bale will look older and slightly balder?

Yes.

Why make a movie about 3 product launch speeches when we can just like watch the real ones?

I think they said it's actually the 30mins before each speech. Even then do you not think there might be a little more to it than that? Flash back to key moments etc.

Well there was Noah Wylie in Pirates of Silicon Valley which was great - cheesy mind. Jobs with Kutcher which was well... interesting if mostly made up. And that FunnyorDie thing iSteve which was just well an attempt as comedy written in 3 days and filmed in 5 which about says it all really. Porn film are better written.

Personally I think they should do a Noah Wylie Pirates sequel :D

This movie reminds me that it's only a matter of time before we see annnnnother Hollywood movie on an American football or baseball team

Usually an implication of a question such as "do we a really need another one" is that there are many already in existence.

ok dokey...

It could also mean....Do we really need another ONE?
But this has been horse has be beat to death. Either way looks like another movie is coming.
