I love cristian bale, one of the greatest i know him before i knew who was steve jobs was, didnt know who was s.jobs before 2007

With the exception of the facial hair, I don't really see the resemblance.

Does it really matter about appearance though? Did anyone post about Jordan Beaufort in Wolf of Wall Street before they saw that DiCaprio looks nothing like him? Probably not.

I know you mentioned that it's not all about appearance, but no; it's really not.

Sony's Steve Jobs biopic will be "loosely based" on the Isaacson book, which itself is loosely based on reality, about a man who created a reality distortion field.

I just hope the date I take to see the film will be loose. Wink wink.

I like this option better, because Leonardo was not a good fit for Steve Jobs! But that is just my Opinion.

Why make a movie about 3 product launch speeches when we can just like watch the real ones?
Because it's not really about the content of those speeches but what's behind them and around them and what they (or more specifically what was introduced in them) meant for Jobs and Apple and the whole tech industry if not even the world in general.

I've often thought that Tom Cruise would be a good pick for the role due to his mannerisms and general intensity. However, Bale makes a heck of a lot of sense as well.

It seems strange if they let Fincher walk over the casting of the lead and end up casting Bale anyway.

Cruise is a great actor but he would overwhelm a autobiographical role like Steve. Bale will become the character better.

Many people on this forum clearly have no idea of Bale's talent...for those that don't know he has done more than just Batman :roll eyes:

He's actually an incredible actor and throws himself into many roles to an obsessional state...the 'Machinist' is a prime example of that, IMDB quote:

The producers of the film claim that Christian Bale dropped from about 173 pounds in weight down to about 110 pounds in weight to make this film. They also claim that Bale actually wanted to drop down to 100 pounds, but that they would not let him go below 120 out of fear that his health could be in too much danger if he did.

He's very much a method actor and takes his roles incredibly seriously.

How many more of these movies can be made? Seriously.

How many have been made since his death exactly?! I count one

Right. And that was last year so we need one every two years?
If it will make money i am sure the movie will be made, i am just surprised they are doing another one so quickly.

The first one was clearly trying to cash in as quickly as possible on his passing. A decent film takes years to make and will/should be the clear standout therefore there will be no need to make one every 2 years.

It just surprises me how people state things like 'do we really need another one' as though hundreds have been made.

Because they would be different stories and different types of films on many levels (from scale, to actors, to the writer, to director, etc.). Just because a TV movie of something has been done doesn't mean a big screen movie wouldn't make sense, and just because a smaller more independent movie has been done of something doesn't mean that a bigger more mainstream and prominent movie with a somewhat different take/storyline wouldn't make sense.

Your right. It doesn't matter.

But how many ways can you tell the same story in the last 3 years.

Fiction is one thing, but non fiction stories shouldn't be re-shot every other year. Just my opinion.

Trust Aaron Sorkin. He's amazing, a great storyteller. He made politics entertaining (The west wing)!!! He's also taking his time which is almost a guarantee of a great movie.
"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!"

The Batman of Apple.

nah.. he has talent.. not a one character actor

you won't watch another one?

that'd be cool

Only actor that would do a better job would be Daniel Day Lewis.

that'd be cool too
:)

Christian Bale is absolutely the best actor for this role.

PS: Ashton Kutcher should burn in hell for playing Steve Jobs then going to work for Lenovo and basically shapeshifting back into Steve Jobs during the most recent keynote.

Perfect Casting!

Ever since i first read that they were going to make a movie about Jobs, i immediately had Bale in mind, and was hugely disappointed with the Kutcher casting in the other movie.

I personally believe that Christian Bale is the best possible choice for the role of Steve Jobs, mostly because of how his pronunciation of the letter "S" in words is incredibly similar to that of Steve's. Making him sound more believable as Jobs. Apart from that, there are also the strikingly visual similarities.

Preferred order of SJ actors:

1. Daniel Day-Lewis (excellent actor, good physical resemblance)
2. Noah Wyle (good actor, good physical resemblance)
3. Christian Bale (great actor, so-so physical resemblance)
.
.
10. Leonardo DiCaptio (great actor, no physical resemblance)
.
.
999. Ashton Kutcher

Which events will the film cover? Probably ipod and Mac, but hopefully iphone and ipad

I reckon Christian Bale's attitude in life is similar to Jobs, hard ass and a bully to his co-workers so he would be great for the role. Better than that total ******** they chose for that other Jobs movie.
