Actually, I was pretty shocked when I saw that I was getting a 22" LCD monitor. It was on my wish list but I didn't think anyone would even think about getting it for me. Damn, I should have put a 30" Cinema Display instead.

You wife rocks ass! You need the 30" to compliment the D300. I own both and I'm going to qualify it with the fact that they go hand in hand.1) already got, My 80gb ipod classic, Well happy With It
2) after christmas i'm getting a Nikon D300
3) a Dell 30" Monitor, the wife needs convincing i need it, so it may be more like a christmas come June present.

If you promise not to burn the lump of coal, does that make it a carbon offset? Those can be pretty valuable these days.
I don't expect anything for myself, except a day off work. For my wife... she gets my presence at home all day. We are not into gifts.

I know! I love the surprise of waking up on christmas morning and going downstairs to unwrap presents. For the past few years though I go downstairs and my parents hand me an envelope. Usually I get some clothes and trinkets with the money but I really would appreciate some surprises.
Money is nice, but boring.

yeah well I am walking on the 15th as well so the may one is out. Plus I already have a job lined up in the spring. It will be nice to good chunk of change coming my way every week for once.
I just feel sorry for one of my profs because he giving us his final tomorrow for steel. He has to have about 30 or so of them graded and having our averages by noon on Thursday. This is along with I think 7 12 page reports to read and grade. Rather rough having to do all that in about 24 hours.

Canon 50mm f/1.8 or a Speedlite 430EX from Dad. Mum's getting me a Wii but that's supposed to be a "family gift". I'd love a MacBook or a 30D but I know what's financially feasible and what's taking the piss.
On top of that, I think there's a few SanDisk Extreme III CF cards rolling my way along with a remote release for my 300D. There's nothing like Christmas to improve your setup, eh?

Since nobody knows what to get me for Christmas, I have to do most of my shopping myself, followed by a sudden kind of amnesia in which I... "forget" what I bought just minutes ago. And much to my surprise, my wallet on the other hand is full of money for no apparent reason.
