Well I asked my mum and dad for Leopard, some more RAM for my PowerBook, and a 500GB external HD, and then, something excellent happened:

They said it would be a better idea if they just got me a MacBook instead! :D
(One small problem though - it would probably be after MacWorld, rather than on Christmas day, in case a new much better and cheaper MacBook suddenly appears)

From other people I have asked for:
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii)
Mario Party (DS)
Contra 4 (DS)
DS Lite Rumble Pak
The Office: Series 1 & 2 box set (the Ricky Gervais one, not the American version)

Thats cool, so is Metroid Prime 3!!!

Things my parents may get me: iPhone, but I will have to turn it down unless I still want to wait for 3G.

What I will get myself, Unreal Tournament 3 for Playstation 3.

There nothing else I want since all the games I could want to play I will rent. Anything computer related I get from work, from a new Macbook Pro to upgrades to software.

Its going to be a simple christmas for me. :D

Spooks series 5 - the best one so far, IMO
Red Dwarf series 8 - to finish my collection
Tomb Raider Anniversary PSP
GTA Vice City Stories
Tales of Eternia PSP
Final Fantasy Tactics PSP

...Maybe treat myself to a few Virtual Console games too.

Hopefully my little PSP will be here before Xmas. It's slated for the 21st. But with postage around this time of the year...

Best of all it's all research too :D

my health

I never thought that my first post on macrumors (after years of lurking) will be on the topic of christmas present predictions. In any case, it really does not matter what present i get. All i want is my health back again. Ive just gone thru a 9 hour spine surgery. Titanium rods and screws were placed on my back to add support for my back so that it will not pinch on the nerves of my leg and will allow me to urinate normally again.

Its been a week now since the surgery and my bladder is not that well adjusted yet. My leg hurts and numbs all the time. I hope for the day that i can become normal again.

My wife asked me what apple product i wanted for xmas and my reply was "i dont care as long as i have my health back"

But the new metallic subnotebook macbook sure sounds nice come macworld. :)

I'm not even going to bother posting what I've received already. Seems rather insignificant.

Well.... I found out I got a macbook for school which im totally siked for but... the only thing is that i think im cursed with buying apple technology. When I bought my imac 1-2 weeks later rev. B comes out. With my ipod 1 month later Ipod Photo comes out. But I have come to realize that I should be thankful for what I get and how fortunate I am to have these nice toys.

Why do you say that at the beginning of ur posts? Does your smartphone do that automatically?

I'm curious. I'm sure that other people are as well.

I just buyed a DigiTech Bad Monkey guitar pedal for christmas, but i'm not going to use it untill i unwrap it :p

For me I think Christmas is going to be a mixture of college graduation presents (I am graduating Dec 15 WOO HOO) and Christmas.

I am thinking a Bike Roof rack for my car

Some new clipless pedal for my bike

Some pots and pans
Blender
Other kitchen appliances
Better crap for living on my own that the cheap college crap I have right now.
Furniture
Money
A Gyroscope (toy)

CO2 inflator for my bike
Other biking stuff
Battlestar DVD season 2 and 3'

Years of Christmas from my mom things have gotten some what predictable. Main items from my list will come up. Every year I do normally get at least one huge surprise that I want but never am expecting and it never on my list. Always something I have said in passing or in small convos of things I like but never expect. Last year it was my watch. Over the years I can think of multiple gifts I gotten that I never was expecting that I loved.
My gut is telling me this year is mostly going to be very easy to predict and no real surprises. My favorite gifts are always ones that I am never expecting to get of something I never really talked about but really want. Those are the gifts that make me feel loved.

You can always tell the ones who have just left home, practicality all the way ;)
I think Im getting a Touch, though I've told them to keep it on the lowdown ;)
New Years Resolution: must stop using ';)' so frequently

Yeah the browser puts it in or MacRumors detects its from a mobile device and puts that in, don't have a clue why :)
Well, as far as Im aware

For Hanukkah, I just got some DVDs and money. My family never exchanges any huge gifts (no big deal to me).

And Wednesday, I'm buying myself this:

After reading through this thread, I just dawned on me, I completely forgot to tell my parents (they are divorced, so 2 christmas') what to get me!

I the only thing I know for sure is 4gb of ram for my iMac, because I dropped some hints, and then randomly, about a week ago, I get a frantic phone call at work. It's my mother, and she's called to tell me that I can't have 4 gigs of ram because it's $1000. I asked her where she was, and she tells me, the apple store. I tell her, WAY cheaper other places. Sure enough, 3 days later, I pick up her iPhone, and in her e-mail is an OWC other confirmation. Two days after that, an OWC box appears, and she has left it on the dining room table ever since, not knowing that I know what the acronym means.

Other than that, I asked for some games, but never said what they were. From my dad I asked for an EyeTV Hybrid.

Normally, christmas is a big day for me, and while I buy all the presents I give myself, I usually am given the biggest one every year.

For instance, freshmen year, got $1500 laptop, next year $1500 in computer parts to build my own box. My mother decided to end that, simply because I just got an iMac, though I am paying for it, it has put her in a financial strain.

So, past the ram and the tv tuner, christmas should be interesting. :D

I asked for new shoes, a toolbox, and said "no clothes". I'll probably receive clothes anyways, and i'm hoping for the shoes if for no other reason than to save myself $80. The toolbox isn't too much of a concern, i've just been buying some automotive tools lately and want to have something to store them in (they're currently lying about). Other than that, I have an Uncle that usually gives out $50 to the nephews/nieces.

I've gotten to an age where I don't really like receiving presents and prefer to give them. (30 years old on the 29th BTW) Pretty much anything I really want, I can afford to buy for myself, and so I do just that.
