Why isn't this configurable, so I can choose whether the right mouse click opens in the current tab or a new one by default?

That, and FireFox's "awesome bar" (stupid name for a great feature) is why I don't use Safari on a day-to-day basis...

That is a very specific thing to configure - whether "right-click select search in google" opens a new tab? Then do you want another setting for "search in spotlight?" Should everything have its own setting?

Sorry for the typo. I meant to say Command-click. Well, the convention is that a regular click usually keeps you in the same window, command-click opens a new window/tab (don't remember which one by default) in the backgroud, and command-shift-click for foreground. These are configurable somewhat in the preferences.

It's confusing enough as it is. Adding even more options to that would probably be even more confusing. It's really not bad at all once you get used to it.

I use Chrome when I'm on my Windows Bootcamp and love it. But I'm starting to really like Safari for OSX especially with the Glims plugin. It's dead fast and always reliable for me on 10.6.2.

I think I will be trying Chrome for Mac when it comes out however. Don't think it will get me off Safari though. Can't stand Firefox.

Thanks for the tip. I installed Glims yesterday and so far I like it!

The Awesome Bar is also a feature that made me use Firefox most of the time for Internet browsing. I do use Safari frequently.

Back on topic,
I've never used Chrome. Might as well try it when they properly release it.
