Chrome for iOS Gains Biometric Authentication for Incognito Tabs

Most people on this forum seem to hate Facebook because of its misuse of private data. Yet Google’s products are a way bigger threat to our privacy, and yet people love their products. Strange.

Figured it out. You have to go to chrome://flags/#enable-incognito-authentication-ios enable it, then close the app completely, then go to settings>Privacy

Apple also needs this for their photos app as well. Maybe in IOS27 they finally will add it.

This is needed for both iOS and tvOS - but if Apple thinks it's ok to exhibit your iCloud photo library on your big TV without authentication, I guess it's not a priority for them adding it to our phones.

No its not. It's a bloated resource hog and drains battery. I switched to firefox after the recent redesign and never looked back.

Life without youtube would probably be better. There's be a lot less fake news and more people would be vaccinated.

Funny whenever i launch firefox it’s the biggest ram hog on my mac before i even type in a web address.
And wow you had to bring politics and covid into this. YouTube is actually a healthy platform

Sorry but chrome is superior. And life without YouTube would be a lot different

How? FireFox is FOSS and does everything, if you do not like it there is Brave which is also FOSS and is literally a Chrome clone.

Yes, Youtube is great but it comes with a price of your privacy. Its not totally evil on its own but if you combine it with other Google services like maps, email, chrome, search engine, Android, Play Store, Drive, Contacts, Photos... they will have a pretty targeted on profile of you.

There are few video alternatives popping here and there like Odysee , PeerTube , and the proof of concept ThetaTV but yeah none is as good as YouTube in every aspect other than privacy.

I feel so selfish. I never feel bad for people based on the brand they selected. I need to be more empathetic.

Its not of the brand they use but the kind of product they use, kind of like you feel sorry for people who smoke cigarettes or feed their family on soft drinks and fast food for months.
