Why do people keep complaining about the lack lion gestures? If people use "bettertooltool" gesture support would be a none issue.

Because I am apparently retarded when it comes to BetterTouchTool and cannot get the two finger swipe to work with it still.

One thing I haven't figured out is how to rearrange bookmarks right on the menu in Safari. In Chrome I can just drag and drop right from the bookmark menu. In Safari I have to go into Show All Bookmarks and do it from that screen. Am I missing some nifty little trick?

Chrome all the way. I find it to be the fastest and still relatively light browser. It has all the necessary plug-ins I need. Safari doesn't support syncing so it's out of question since I own two computers and Firefox is too bloated nowadays IMO.

I would use chrome except they stupidy don't support the "GOOGLE" toolbar on "GOOGLE" Chrome. I use it for syncing bookmarks across devices all the time.

Syncing is built into Chrome. Look under Options -> Personal stuff.

I've noticed lately Chrome stalls and hangs up. If I have 2 or 3 tabs open, say each one is a different forum, Chrome will sit trying to load the page if I change forums or threads for example. Sometimes it will only partially load a page or sit on blank screen. I'll stop it and refresh but it doesn't help. Also youtube is ungodly slow.

I've tested my internet speeds and they're normal. Sometimes I'll open up Safari and it will actually load (and fast) the same youtube video I'm trying to load on Chrome.

Any suggestions? I'm running Lion 10.7.2 on a month old MPB. I've been a Chrome user for a few years and hesitant to make the switch to FF. Should I uninstall and re-install Chrome?

There are some Lion gestures that are specific to Safari and that can't be replicated or mimicked by apps like Bettertouchtool. E.g. Double tap two fingers to auto zoom, double tap three fingers to get definition on a word...

Didn't know about the 3 finger double click. Thats very useful. I prefer safari on MBA because of the pinch to zoom and double tap two fingers to zoom are something i cannot live without. Howver on iMac i prefer chrome as its better at keeping passwords.

Google seems to have fixed the left/right two finger swipe on Chrome. It feels much smoother and there are transparent arrows that allow you to visualize it. I'll have to give Chrome another go and see if it feels any speedier than Safari. Chrome made a huge speed difference on my PC laptop.

Google released Chrome 15 to the stable channel today. It includes a two-finger swipe animation for back/forward navigation and rubberband scroll mechanics.

As always, it is stupid fast.

It also remembers your vertical position when going back and forth! Back to Chrome for me (for now...I like the double tap zoom and definitions in Safari...that might keep me going back and forth)

I used Firefox for about the last year and found that it was slowly chewing up RAM at an alarming pace. It was probably a plugin to blame, but didn't feel inclined to do debugging. Switched to Safari about 6 months ago and have been happy with it. On the Air, it flies.

i use safari as my main browser, and chrome other times. i find that safari just feels a bit smoother than chrome.

Chrome in my opinion is the fastest out of the three, however I only use that on windows. I prefer safari on macs purely because it is fully compatible to OSX (I mean it supports gestures, features related to OSX and is better looking than the others).

The finger gestures work with all browsers

I prefer Firefox, its my only browser in my main desktop computer, as Im in need of some exclusive add-ons, like download helper, and I also prefer tabs on bottom, firefox allows me to choose to set it that way.

In addition, on my macbook, I simply need the fastest option, so I have Chrome as my main broswer, but I keep Firefox there as well.

BTW, tried Kamino and tought it was sh@@$#$t

I would love to use safari and I think it's a fine browser, but everyone's got their quirks and little preferences that are dealbreakers to them. Mine is how chrome lets you google search on the address bar and safari doesn't. I guess I've grown too dependent on it and it's just something I wish safari had but doesn't. Also, I like how the bookmarks show if you open a new tab on chrome, but I guess that's just being too picky.

Download Omnibar for Safari. It works flawlessly and does exactly that.

I know. That's why I specified that I couldn't use anything else than the really smooth finger swipe in Safari.

It's just as smooth in Chrome.

I use all three for various reasons. Yet as each week goes by, an amazing amount of new Chrome extensions appear, some so clever & advanced compared to competition it's really fascinating. Clearly there's a lot of attention being paid to the Mac version of Chrome.

Anyone who does a lot of work on the web owes it to themselves to browse the Chrome Store to keep up with the latest. In fact there's even an extension that shows you only the latest, so browsing is only required if you haven't looked in awhile.

I used to be both a huge fan of Safari & Firefox, but Chrome has them both outdone by a mile. There's not a single Firefox extension or add on that isn't available in Chrome.

I don't think so.
Then stick with what you know, it's no big deal. Most people don't notice the difference anyway.

It only truly matters to those like myself who rely on it to make their living. Anything that speeds up my workflow is a huge advantage. I have no time to waste on little things.
