And no issues with your credit locked?

Going on my 3rd year. If you have paid your previous iup on time, I would guess you will be approved without any sort of credit pull/check.

I have my credit locked and credit monitoring service, and never have an issue or get notification from credit monitoring service.

There were people who had credit locks in place and were approved for the Apple Csrd, too. Not sure why that works but it seems to.
I was denied, so I’ll have to unlock my credit. Anyone know what credit agency they use? I would hate to unlock all 3 do them.

My husband called them a few days ago and was told Equifax. I don’t know for sure since we were approved without unlocking.

That's a bit disturbing, no? The point of a credit lock is to keep people from opening credit lines in your name. If YOU can get an Apple Card or a phone with your credit lock, can't Joe B Scammer as well?

You guys are financing new iPhones?

Even if you can afford to pay outright, it's a good financial decision because these are basically zero interest loans.

I got an email why I was rejected and said until to verify credit and to call Equifax to unlock. So your husband is correct. I’ll do it tomorrow

Why not? 0% financing. I pay the same either way. I got 0% on my vehicles financing too, should I have paid that in full upfront too?

Yeah, I haven’t had a hard pull since the first IUP was opened. If you’re upgrading and you don’t have anything adverse in your credit report, and you pay on time, they’ll do a soft pull at most, which they can do with your credit locked. It’s just that they can’t add an inquiry to your credit report (hard pull) while it’s locked.

For what it’s worth, I started a 2nd IUP for my wife’s phone this year and they did do a hard pull for that even though I already had an IUP with my own phone. So I think for the most part they only do it on brand new IUP agreements.

I was just denied because I forgot I froze my Equifax profile. Unfroze it and it went through fine.
