Nice 5.5" part! In black too! Wow!!!!!! It going be the flagship model! 128GB option, better camera and a higher resolution screen then the 4.7" model.

I can't believe parts shown in bits and pieces excites some here. It's like they found the holy grail or something....

Its a phone and not a time machine... Jeez..

<posts random comment about not being able to wait for the next generation iphone... Just like everyone else>

You're assuming that Apple was the one the started the rumors. We had even stronger rumors about the 'teardrop shaped' iPhone 5 in 2011, and even cases were built for its leaked specs, and boom, we got the iPhone 4s.

Teardrop was just a concept design..... like so many other concepts but become a bit more popular. Or like many iOS 7 concepts! 5.5" iPhone 6 will become reality! Just like a plastic iPhone 5C did, or like iPad mini did. And lots of guys here were saying Apple would never do.

I start to have my doubts about the 5.5" iPhone because of the lack of leaks.

Maybe it was just a concept at one stage? Probably they don't want to change or simply can't their design language because of lack of ideas, stuck to current principles, etc, they canned the 5.5 iPhone? Since they want a home button and want to include the fingerprint scanner into it, they are stuck with a huge lower bezel.

And John Ive probably thinks, that end user would be disturbed, if they watch video on their phones in landscape mode and the left bezel is smaller than the right bezel? I mean, such an asymmetry could lead to an emotional imbalance

And with such huge bezels on top and bottom of the phone, they realized that a 5.5" screen iPhone would be bigger than the monoliths in 2001 and all the other phablets on the market, so they axed the idea?!

Warming up to bigger size iphone for taking photos and video, mostly photos :)

Not looking forward to uncomftable feeling in front pocket of jeans :(

I don't think the 5.5 exists for the sole reason that we're only seeing leaks of the 4.7". The leaks can't be contained so we'd be seeing them by now if it was launching at the same time. It could be launching later as has been speculated but I'm really hoping that's not the case.

How about this - due to the lack of real parts leaks for this massive iPhone. What if the 5.5 is not a screen size at all... but instead, it's a new model number?

Could be that they will stop production of the 5s with it's tricky glass inserts and scratch prone body and put all of it's internals (including the touch ID) inside the 5c body and re-brand it as the 5.5. This would make the 5c package into something that in my opinion, would sell by the boat load.

Home button – seriously? It's 2014.

At which point are they going to lose that inefficient, static, legacy piece of hardware called the home button, and replace it with with customizable on screen buttons?

Maybe it's a feature of iPhone 10s. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

So where are the "iwatch" and 5.5 leaks ?

Could be that the iWatch is being produced in the US: the Mac Pro is produced in the US, and it didn’t leak at all. (Though, that might be because they announced it months in advance of release).

Perhaps they don’t expect a demand that would necessitate the scale that production in China would provide. Also; their sapphire production is all in the US, so it might make more financial sense to keep production in the US, instead of shipping the sapphire glass to China for assembly for the watch, where the profit margins might not be as high as iPhone.

(As for the 5.5" phone — I just don’t think that exists.)

I think it will, yes. It's only a matter of time. I don't think though that this year is a realistic timeframe. We started seeing leaked 4.7 parts a few weeks ago, and it's lauching september. If 5.5 is launching anytime soon, we would have seen at least one part.

If there is such thing as a 5.5 inch it needs to have a micro sd card slot, if not, it's just. iPad mini mini. 4.7 is plenty size for the new iphone.

When they can find a place to put touch ID... For now its efficient as it serves many purposes. The on screen buttons have only a few issues, they have to disappear to give optimal screen space and the screen has to be functional for them to work. You can force restart your phone when the onscreen home button fails to work.
