Or, Conflict Catcher.

Ha, those where NOT the times.
Still remember this app, solved a few issues for me.
But, I learned you could do this by yourself if you could start up from another disk, you could disable/enable extensions yourself to find the problem.
But, it would take a lot less time if you used Conflict Catcher.

Geez I remember those days. Disable half of the extensions, if the problem persisted disable half of those, etc. until the problem extension was identified...

Whoa. I remember Conflict Catcher. It would just keep enabling difference combos of system extensions and restarting automatically until it hit whatever combo was making your machine crash. Those really were the bad old days.

Forget the watch; I'll take System Software 7.5! Nothing could have beat that UI back then. X with Afterstep or WindowMaker came close, but 7.5 was it.

BL.

I agree. Mac OS up to, but not including, 10.10 had a "solid feeling" to it. Things felt right. Sadly, that's now been lost.

Wish I was able to buy one of these classic watches... but alas, not in my stars.

Old Apple watch gonna make me rich

What is interesting is why he kept them. Also interesting is that I have one of the watches. Picked it up at a thrift store in Albuquerque for .99 cts. Why did I keep it, because I figured that one day it would be worth billions. Not long now.

You do realize this was a generic corporate promo catalog watch that Apple had run with their logo, and that they had nothing to do with the design?

No different than a Bic pen with a company logo on it.

On the site they are saying it's designed by Apple. "Own the original Apple Watch: a one-of-a-kind opportunity to purchase vintage timepieces designed by Apple in 1995 in a brand new, fully-functional condition that is as timeless as ever."

Are they just straight up lying?

Well, yes. This was an off the shelf 2CAN brand watch (maker logo is right on the strap).

Ah...disable extensions. I'd forgotten about that!

Wow, I had to dig up an old 2CAN watch I have, to compare, the watch face is identical, except the rim is violet anodized aluminum instead of blue, with a metal mesh band, and no Apple logo. Weird to see this was once branded with :apple:.

Yeah, we’ve got these little desk clocks that use the same face/watch mechanism. In fact, we just found them again during a big cleanup/cleanout :D

True that! Apple just picked the funkiest one the out of 20+ choices in the 1990s corporate promo catalog. Each watch probably only cost Apple $10 each. The cost of manufacture is prolly <$1.00.

Back in the 1990s in Japan, we used to get all kinds of swag whenever buying a new Mac. Because I bought several Macs for my company, I scored several trinkets with the Apple logo: pens, paperweights, notepads, shirts, even luggage tags.

Never got one of those watches, though...

Amazing. It's every bit as butt ugly of a watch as the one going on-sale in 12 weeks. How did they manage that?

I have one... for 20 years now

This was a hoot to read. My wife gave this watch to me as an anniversary gift back in 1995 along with a DogCow t-shirt and a rainbow Apple logo cap. I only have the watch and wear it frequently.

Too cool.

its amazing how the finder logo is still exactly the same. the apple logo has undergone two major changes, while the finder icon is practically the same.

You just proved that (a) you have no taste, and (b) you have no taste, within one sentence. Congratulations.

The 1995 watch is not for the timid, but it gets you noticed and makes a statement.

The 2015 watch comes in many different shapes, and while tastes are different, there are some that I would love to wear (except I'm not giving up the watch I'm wearing which accompanied me every day for the last 14 years).
