Ok, i held down C and pressed the power button but it didnt boot from the cd, it just went into OS X, i just tried 3 times :(

Held down option, it only gave me an option to boot into OS X so i guess the disc cant be booted off of, yes its a Power Mac G4 install disc.

You can always get some of those emulators that are floating around the internet. I have never tried to use one yet, but have considered it for awhile. And they should work with leopard.

Oh, your iBook is too new to run boot up OS9. You could just drag the "System Folder" to your hard drive from the disc and try getting OS X to set that as the Classic System Folder for your system.

On a computer with a PowerPC processor, install OS X first. This is an old OS X CD that supports classic.

When in Mac OS X insert the OS X CD. A window will open and there will be an option for Additional Installs. This should include Classic as an option.

The installation of OS 9 must happen from within OS X.

Alternatively, just use sheepshaver.

That is what I said!

I tried that additional installs thing from OS X install discs, i tried it from A panther install disc and a tiger install disc neither of them had an option for Os 9, or classic enviroment or anything like that. I guess ill have to buy a os 9 disc from ebay then.

Yeah, if you can't boot from the OS 9 disk, there is probably an issue with it (at least on computers that we know OS 9 should run natively on)

1) Put in Additional Software disc.
2) Double-click on Install Additional Software.

It would be nice if, every time this topic comes up, people would stop saying things like "Get an OS 9 disc", because it's not necessary and doesn't work anyway.

I know a couple of people have already said this, but there seems to be a problem with listening to them. :)

And thats exactly what i did, and like i said, there was no option to install Classic Enviroment, OS 9, or anything like that.

If I remember correctly, if you want to install OS 9 on a HD with OS X, it needs the OS 9 drivers installed when the disk was formatted when OS X was installed.

Oh wait! I seem to remeber an option in disk utility from the OS X install disk that allows you to "Install Drivers for OS 9" when you format your HD for a clean install. Check on that
