People that do a clean install shouldn't post which apps are working for them on this forum. That's not the way iOS is used by the vast majority of people.

I don't agree with that statement or yours, but I'm just pointing out that it goes both ways.

A vast majority of iOS users don't install beta software on their phones... the ones that do, should take every possible step to make sure it'll work correctly before complaining about it. Additionally, it's good policy in general to completely wipe your phone and start over every once in a while to keep it working optimally. I would do that even if I wasn't installing beta versions.

I installed iOS8 yesterday and so far the ONLY problem I'm having is that Google Sheets doesn't work correctly. Other than that, everything works great with a restore/set up as new install of the beta on a 5S.

I agree with everything you said, but I don't think you have to set up your device as new if you're not experiencing major problems. Also, the older the device, the more useful it is to have a fresh start.

Installed as an update to iOS 7.1.1 and ios 8 beta 1 works just fine for me. in fact, I find it faster and less bug related than official 7.1.1 release :)
Go and figure...
Btw; after some hesitation and testing, I've installed it on my iPad air as well - still no issues and works the charm :)
PS; Battery drain is SIGNIFICANTLY lower on iOS 8 :)

I installed iOS 8 on my primary iPad (128 GB / AT&T / 4th Gen) and my primary iPhone 5s (32 GB / AT&T). I've had numerous issues with the iPad becoming unusable if I try to do a restore or if I connect it to my MacPro iTunes. Right now, I have an extra iPhone 5s in my glovebox in the event it should happen to my iPhone.

There maybe a problem with doing a restore after installing iOS 8. I don't know. That isn't my forte. I thank others for posting their experiences with restores and clean set ups because now I know that my equipment isn't alone in this.
