I tried to push an email to myself while recording a memo. No clicking. However, sometimes there is clicking. Maybe Apple embedded a tiny cricket in the device.

Damn those tiny crickets.

All joking aside, in the mean time, what I've done is put both the Settings and Camera app in the dock. Then if I want to take some video, it's a little bit quicker to open the Settings, turn on airplane mode. Hit the home button, then launch camera. It at least keeps you from having to flips through home screens in case you aren't on the first page.

Skiltrip-- interesting! Since my unit had just been restored when tested in the Apple store, I did not have push mail enabled, or anything else for that matter.

I got my ipod today and the clicking is there. Although it is quite quiet when it's not in a silent environment. I might take it back in 25 days or whatever and see if I get a better model. If not I'll just have to hope for a firmware update.

(I don't want to risk swapping my ipod for one with louder clicking and light leaks.)
