Two questions:

Although not GOOD for you, is regular coke not BAD for you? It contains no preservatives and no artificial sweeteners.

Also, is splenda bad for you, as it is now being touted as the safest sugar substitute?

I don't have any actual facts to back this up at the moment but I'm pretty sure too much regular coke is bad for you

pepsi is better, but i think im going to die because i drink diet pepsi non stop

Coke Sucks.

I'll pick my drinks in the following order:

Wild Cherry Pepsi
Pepsi
Diet Pepsi
RC Cola
Faygo Pop
Diet Rite
Diet Coke
Cherry Coke
Coke

I met a doctor who was in his 80s who told me that when he was going to school he had a professor who practiced medicine at the turn of the century. Guy told him the # of GI problems skyrocketed with the introduction of carbonated beverages. But that also coincided with big industrialization in this country and the release of pollutants, by-products, etc. So, in essence, there are too many variables for one to say soda caused all of the problems.

Still, regular soda can rot your teeth and pack on the pounds if you like hoisting a lot of them.

But aspartame and all the artificial Monsanto "treats" seem to be bad news. However, Scully used to drink 10-12 cans of diet pepsi a day when he was running Apple and he's seems OK. Might be a lot of genetic predisposition involved...

Diet sodas in general doesn't taste very good, Imo. And they can name 'em as fancy as they want to, but it changes nothing.
My dentist warned me against drinking soda because it does bad things to your teeth, and she wasn't talking about sugar. I don't actually remember what it was, but I do remember that it made sense.

And ice-tea will rule the world soon anyway, so why bother? ;)

Yup, looks like another one of these to me...

I'd like to see a single, complete list of ALL the different Cokes that have been introduced over the years. I think we might still be missing some.

Even Harder to Find

See, here's my problem. I'm a Pepsi One fan, but it's like being the black sheep of the family. I've only found two stores that fairly consistently carried it, and now one of those has stopped - leaving me with only one store where I can count on there being a few cases.

My gods - the last thing we need is one more product fighting for shelf space!

I'm constantly afraid that I'm gonna have to find something new to drink! (Especially when they transitioned to Splenda and it was off the shelves for a few weeks!)

:(

I was in a Sheetz (best gas station ever...much better than Wawa, for those of you in the Northeast) this evening and saw Coke Zero on display. My curiousity got the best of me, so I got a bottle. It actually wasnt too bad. Not as good as real Coke, but its definatly the most drinkable diet soda I've tried (I'm not a fan of any diet sodas though).

Reminds me of last Saturday morning.

A few mates and I were walking into the city, sorta stumbling about (hangover) when we were approached by this man, a market researcher for coke. Said he'd like us to take part in a survey, and since we'd nothing better to do, we said yeh. Got a free lunch out of it, so can't complain. Anyway, it was market research for a new 350ml bottle they're going to be releasing in the UK for £0.65 per bottle. Bit more expensive than a can (apparently RRP is £0.52), but yeah... well that was a pointless story, but still. The bottle is cute :)

andy.

people actually complaining about having too many choices? Americans like the freedom of choice, we are a society where more is better. The more choices we have, the more we feel we matter, that we're in control, the happier we are. Coke is just using good marketing. Maybe there is no difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero, or maybe there is, but just like every other company out there they are gonna say there is to create a new market, to bring in more money. It's giving the people what they want, even if they don't know they want it yet. After all, how many different types of Ipods do you need!?
