I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew, my second one as I killed the first one with hefty usage 10 yrs ago. I love it. However, I had a chance to use a Keurig recently on a business trip and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Regarding the single serving machines, I had a Senseo pod machine and gave it away because it just wasn't cutting it for me in terms of producing a quality cup of coffee.

I was looking for a good way to make coffee and some recommendations for differnet kinds and came across this. I love coffee and want to get a good quality technique and system down.

"Giz Explains: How to Actually Make Coffee"

Gizmodo did this really good write up on the most popular different ways. I like the suggestions you guys have been giving so far. Any good recommendations on your favorite roasts or beans to go with?

total coffee snob, and have been totally happy with my Capresso that i've had about 10 years now. they don't make mine anymore, but the new ones look even better... damn. shouldn't have looked that up.

IMO, a good machine does make a better cup.

checklist for any machine: correct water temp (200F or above), gold filter (no paper to wick out oils), sealed delivery to capture flavor, no heating element beneath the carafe to kill the finished product. best of luck.
