iPod touch Color ipod touches and camera for January 27th????

No. If the software update for the iPhone is announced, high chance it'll come to the iPod touch a few months later. Apple announces new iPods 2-3 months after the iPhone. Till then, I don't expect to see any changes for the iPod touch till then.

I am his evidence. There are plenty of others like me who put off updating their 2G Touch when the 3G came out without a camera and would pick one up in a flash if a camera was added.

Knowing some people who would buy a new iPod Touch with a camera does not make it a fact that a majority of people would replace their current iPod Touch if it got a camera. Lets see an published study that supports this view. Otherwise, it's just an OPINION and should be worded as such (i.e. "In my opinion").

Note - Everyone that I know with an iPod Touch (including myself), would not upgrade based only on a camera added to the iPod Touch. Does this mean then that a majority of users do not need a camera in the iPod Touch or that people have different priorities (battery life, etc) ?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Software update? Those are released concurrently.

i am also evidence of this. i sold my 2g ipod touch, and am currently waiting for a new update. i am going to buy the ipod touch as soon as apple adds the camera. i will also get one as soon as it is released

TBH, an iPod Touch with an anodized color case and a camera (possibly with a new flash?) would be the only reason I'd relinquish the 32GB 2nd gen I paid so dearly for in late 2008, when it still suits me perfectly fine... except that 32GB isn't enough for my small music collection AND every episode of (new) Top Gear ever broadcast in the UK. Actually, it can only hold three seasons of Top Gear at a time, unfortunately.

i think it would be refreshing to see some new colors as well as a camera added to the ipod touch (NO ITOUCH) i would get like a blue or red one but i also think (not sure if this is a new idea or not) that they shoud add a brushed steel back plate instead of the one that is scratched so easily

I never thought of steel plated color ipod touches.... i thought the color would be in the front and not in the back...

Broke my 1st gen iPod Mini a couple days ago. I've been walking around musicless. I've promised myself I'd buy a touch if they had cameras. Would be nice if they are introduced on the 27th.
