I don't really mind which color I get. I'll take whatever is in stock. This time I grabbed a 5s in the space gray, because I think a lot of cases look better with the black front of the phone.
Your sentence seems contradictory. You don't mind which color you get, but you like the black front for use with cases. :)

Coming from the one who uses 3 phones daily.

I actually don't use Windows phone anymore. But what does the number of devices I use each day have to do with anything? I am a tech enthusiast and my work pays for a new device each year to boot. I keep two lines because I prefer not to mix business with personal life.

If I have a choice on what my phone can look like, I am going to make that choice. If I absolutely NEEDED a replacement device, that's a different story, because you're right, a gold phone will work as well as a black phone IF the number one priority is replacing my phone. I have been lucky enough, thus far, to not be in a need situation. It has always been want.

It's not contradictory because he prefers one color, but it wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

I'd love an orange iphone 5s. They don't make one and that wouldn't stop me from buying one. I also waited a few days to pick up my iphone so I could order the silver because they were sold out. I could have had space grey that day but I wanted another color. If I wanted an iPhone and didn't buy one at all because they didn't make a certain color, that would be one thing, waiting a day/week to get the color you want is another thing.

PS: I don't use a case for mine, so I'm the one that has to live with the color choice.
