awesome -- thank you for doing this! yes, I somehow doubt that the color will be that shade IRL but it certainly gives you some idea....

the replies here have successfully made me rule out silver, and brought yellow back into the shortlist. I didn't show the rest of the room but there are a number of things and paintings that would go well with the yellow, actually. I'm still blue-curious. Green too, but I don't like the minty shade of the chin and stand as much as the pale yellow...

Whatever I do I'll be sure to post a before and after photo to this same thread.

That mockup was cool. Internet Enzyme for the win.

One thing to keep in mind is that even Apple's online colors may not match how you perceive these colors in person. For example, the lighter of the blue and green colors resembles the iPad Air colors that many in person found much more subtle than expected. It's very possible that the in-person light shades will only suggest the color and may even appear silver-grey (or close to that) when viewed just from the front.

I still like yellow, for your room, though. It's a color pop, but it also brings out some of the warmth of your hardwood floor.

That’s a really lovely room! Honestly, any of the colors would look beautiful. Yellow would be best if you want to go bold, but if you’re looking for something more serene, I think green would be good.

I think that you should wait until you see them in person to purchase: then you can see exactly how they look in real lighting conditions.

Don’t click on « View in AR » on the top of the page, you have to go almost at the bottom, you will see the colors option for the AR. At the top, it’s just blue
I got it to work. Safari was just hanging on my phone, is all.

And I am glad I did. I was excited for the blue or purple, but they would probably look terrible where I would be working.

Another consideration is what colors work best with you. Someone sitting and looking at both you and the iMac should see something complementary. Orange colored clothes make me look dead so that would be a bad color for me. I look better in blues and reds. I think red would go well with the books behind you. Blue would be like the classic blazer and go with everything.

I think orange would look best there, even though said color wasn't listed as an option. Outside of that, I would go with blue.
Yeah, I said Orange as well. However, given how many people has suggested yellow, and after the photosh... I mean the Pixelmator work with the yellow one, I wouldn’t rule out yellow. Actually, I like it!

Actually, that yellow is pretty close to the Orange, and honestly, I think he will be tired of the orange much sooner than the yellow one.

Orange. Nice pop. A fruit to go with the plants. Picks up on the reddish books. Keeps it a bit warmer than the yellow. But like others said, any of the colors will work since the rest if the room is so sedate. Choose the one you want to look at all the time, and gives the most joy.

I would suggest a beautiful and colourful picture, in the form of skin, to the back of your iMac.
How to: (In Ho Chi Minh City, VN)
- Obtain the file of the picture I like (a photo of my kids is also good enough)
- Take it to the print shop and ask them to to print it to skin materials.
- Then take it to a skin shop together with the iMac, let them do the job.
The whole process won't cost me more than 40$.

My iMac sits by the window. This is what I see from my favorite armchair:

Which color (of the new 24” iMac M1) do you think will fit best in this context? I’d like to ask Colleen directly, but cannot get hold of her. She must be busy.

I am currently undecided between Green or Blue. I am also still considering Silver, reluctantly — only because I am worried I’ll get bored of the color over time.

(Btw the 27” pictured is old and needs to go. I’m posting this also to show that not all of us will just put the iMac against a wall and not care about the back’s color…)
I like that vine work in the back! Nice office!

If you have an iPhone to match color - choose that.

I have the iPhone 12 Pro in blue so the iMac will be blue!
And when you upgrade your iPhone every year, just remember to also upgrade your iMac to continue matching the new iPhone colors, and pay more to Apple!!

Oh wait, Apple neglects the Mac lineup so there isn't a new iMac every year (at least in the past few years before Apple Silicon)!!

This thread has made me question my color choices. I was thinking maybe orange, blue or green. But using the AR tool I have been changing my mind toward the yellow based on my decor. I also am starting to think the yellow chin is the doesn't come off as pastel as the other colors. Silver would be the safe choice, but for once I want something different. I really coveted an orange G3 iMac back in the day, but couldn't afford one at the time and was still a PC user.

Am I the only person who thinks Green would be an awesome color for the room?

Maybe blue. Any of the new colours will be great. Contrast may also work fine. Personally I cant decide. 😁

Yellow or Orange would be my choice. Green I would actually avoid because it's much bluer than your plants. I wish it was a normal green.
