Apparently you didn't read the article. Silver is expected to return for the 8.
I read it. But I highly doubt it's happening because omitting silver and or really any kind of attractive metallic $399 AW 8 could be the difference between Apple hitting expected or beyond expected numbers for AW 8 Pro.

Think about it: If the mid-tier iPhones are married to the glossy "IKEA" plastic finishes then surely Apple will do the same for the future mid-tier AW 8?

I think most are oblivious to what the AW Pro will do to the line-up -It's going to be the exact same as when Apple split the one flagship iPhone into a Pro and mid-tier model.

SE is already in the AW line-up. After AW "Pro" drops, Apple will make the $399 model mid-tier in every possible way.

So nobody wants to go out on a limb and say if the watch is flat this year? lol

There is nothing wrong with the Series 7 design. It's a great looking watch so I would be fine with the Series 8 keeping the same design. However, if they are recycling the Series 7 S7 chip and adding no new sensors to the Series 8, then it makes no sense to get the 8. I would look for a good deal on a Series 7, or keep my Series 5 another year.

Seriously, just buy a Series 7. They’re on sale now, and you may get both more colour options, and you don’t lose out on performance.

Also, with inflation, the price of the new Series 8 may be higher than 7. Perhaps this isn’t true in America, but certainly a possibility outside the US.

Apple could use inflation as a reason, but I think they’d need to back it up as well with some significant new features.

I’m not sure a body temperature sensor and longer battery life is enough to justify it.

Why do you need aluminum to be a color? Use colored bands and screens. They obviously have trouble giving away the green cus it’s always on sale
I don't necessarily want aluminum to be a color. I'd have very happily gone with Space Gray or Space Black over green if available for the s7. Sadly, they weren't.

Interesting perspective. Turned that off, value battery life. Never felt like it was hard to activate the display without it being always on.
never even felt a slight hit on battery life. Watch still lasts from when I wake up til we’ll after I go to bed 🤷🏻‍♂️ I went from a series 2 to a 5. And it just looks so much better than the blank black square on your wrist

Cus no one wants them which is why it’s always on sale….
Too bad for them. I like stuff that no one else has, instead of the normal blacks and silvers. Like I said, look at the Fall fashion industry and that is the hot color. Love the green iPhone from last year. Totally cool! :)

Will buy new iPhone 14 Mini if released! Will buy new iWatch 8 athletic model if it has a faster SOC then the iWatch 7!

I love my series 7, but I would love it even more if it was in space gray. I don’t care for midnight, but I had to choose it because it was the darkest color.

This is my next watch. My 4 died after a swim in the river. Infinite boot loop. Nothing has helped get past the briefly-appearing Apple logo.

Have had Series 0, 4, and now 6. Despite daily wear, have barely gotten a scratch on all of them. Amazing durability for something made of aluminum.
I've had an aluminium 0 and 4, and the one problem I have had is that they scratch almost immediately! The screen and the case of both has ended up trashed, so I don't agree about durability - in fact the poor durability is my number one issue with the Apple Watch. I guess it depends on what your personal circumstances are, what you do day to day, etc. And I don't want to pay the high price for stainless given the limited lifespan of the tech.

I know it’s only a rumor, but it makes sense to eliminate green. Green? For a watch?
You know not of which you speak! The Green is Great!
The green is actually a very deep moss green and can often look black. Depending on the light the color will shift. My personal fave Apple Watch color to date.

I’ve had a series 5 since release and aside from 2 pinprick size marks on the aluminum near the band now it’s pretty much flawless. Screen is mint and I’ve hit it against so many things at work it while doing work on my new house

So, no Rose Gold or Pink? iJustine is displeased.
I assume you’re joking, but I’m sad there’s no rose gold. Apple prob dc’d it, because it most likely appeals mostly to women, but I think the the varying shades of grey can look kinda masculine.

The SE is typically an out-of-cycle update... usually around February/March. Keeps the interest primed halfway between major updates.

If I’m not mistaken, there has only been one Apple Watch SE launched…the same time as the Apple Watch 6 in September 2020.

Perhaps you’re thinking iPhone SE?

Agree. Love the green color on the watch and on the iPhone. Hot color in the fashion industry now, so not sure why you would get rid of it.
When something sells slowly, what’s the logical thing to do, keep selling it or discontinue it? The only question now is when will MR use a photo of a non-existent purple Apple Watch again.

I have the graphite series 6 and will be upgrading this year. Was planning on another graphite but the gold looks good to me? I've just had an offer for my 6 so may take that up but, a few weeks without an Apple Watch? Silly really but I use mine all day long apart from when changing. How am I going to cope?!!! Is the series 8 due to be released Sept 16, same day as iPhone 14?
