At this point, sad to say, I'm not holding my breath on having the watch in my hands on Friday.
I'm seeing watches that I ordered already being shipped to other people and my confirmation letter hit at 304am. Developers are getting the chance to buy a watch and have it shipped no later than the 28th. Because you know, they're far more important than the customers that actually might be buying the watch. Yeah, they're developing apps that we might want to purchase and therefore they need the watch. To me, they should have had watches months ago, not this week where Twitter is filled with developers clapping with glee at their opportunity while the rest of us sit on our thumbs and wait for the chance to give Apple our money.
Apple gives you the pat answer when you contact them, "Yep, order looks great. Should be any time now..." which in translation is the front line reps have no answers to give.
My head is spinning from the endless speculations in the different threads on what/when/if/how you'll get it. You know what? I have to stop getting my hopes up. This whole launch slid into the skid long ago, and I should have gone with my gut instinct of just waiting until the hoopla subsided like I did with my 6+.
As of now, my order sits in processing, unmoving, and there's no concrete explanation why. I'm not even holding my breath that I'll have it by 5/8 much less 4/24. Why continue to keep my hopes up? Apple's pushed commitments before, and there's nothing saying they won't again. They've done it with my orders on products that weren't brand new to being launched. I had one order pushed on it's commitment six times.
To be clear: I have NO reliable information that they'd do that to any of us, just my currently pessimistic gut telling me that something else is gonna go sideways before it's all said and done.
I'm currently toying with the idea of just canceling the order altogether unless I see some movement soon. If it happens, great then I'll be a changed man. But, knowing my luck on these things, because I work for UPS that means it'll be shipped FedEx. If it doesn't, then I'll put that thousand plus bucks aside and just chill.
I know from reading the other threads that I'm probably the sole person around here that's being cynical and that's fine. Being optimistic that I might actually get it by 4/24 isn't something I can muster up any longer.
