Do you still have to swipe your finger over it? I see my friend with a Note 4 doing that all the time and it makes me laugh.

No of course not. The Galaxy S5 + Note 4 scanner is utter *****. The S6 ones just have the tap and unlock thing going for them.

Of course the 6S fingerprint scanner is unmatched.

If Apple takes anything from the Android OS I would like the long press in Control Center to take me directly to settings for wifi and bluetooth. I like that and like the notification method that lets me deal with and swipe away notifications one at a time.

Also, and this is silly but I like it, I would like the little bubbles that float up the screen when I connect the charger. It doesn't do anything but it looks cool when it does it.

Another big feature I miss from android is the ability to share just about anything from any app to any other app. I commonly use the share option in Chrome to share a website or in the Amazon app to share a deal to someone in whatsapp.

Apple did implement this to a certain degree in iOS 8. I think they called it Shareable Extensions. But the option to share to whatsapp wasn't there in iOS 8, and it has suddenly appeared in iOS 9. So basically Apple have implemented one of the best android features imho finally in iOS 8, but I still think android does it better.

Apple - once the leaders, now the sheep :(

Btw am I the only one who loves the Apple keyboard? I think is head and shoulders above any keyboard from android.

No it isn't

Not even close

My last Samsung phones were the S6 and S6 edge and you're right, the fingerprint scanner is nowhere near as good as the scanner on my iPhone 6 which in turn isn't as good as my 6s

One thing I miss from the S6 and S6 edge is the fast camera launch. On my 6 I have one of my fingers set to launch the camera and it is almost as quick.

Notifications are handled much better on android plus you get a notification light.

Don't know why Apple doesn't at least allow notification icons in the status bar. Such a small feature will help greatly.

No you don't with the new S6. It was improved for this newest version, and you just place your finger down as with the iPhone

Things I miss from Android (came from a Note 4):
  • Taking photos in 16:9. Not all the time, but some shots (e.g., landscape, large group photos) are just much better in wide screen mode.
  • A more customizable home screen. Beyond a 4x6 grid. Widgets, custom icons, shortcuts, etc.
  • QuickCharge 2.0
  • Google Now
  • SwiftKey. iOS version is still light years behind.
Things I love about the iPhone 6S Plus:
  • OS is fast and smooth like butter. No lagging.
  • TouchID is fast and reliable.
  • Live photos. Sorry to sound cliche, but if you have a baby or toddler it really can be magical. It captures a "moment" far better than what a still photo could ever do.
  • 3D touch. Can only get better as developers work with it.
  • Choice of accessories: dwarfs what any particular Android device has available (e.g., cases).
  • Fast software updates.

I have to agree with the statements above..I have been on Android since 2009. I just switched to my first iPhone (6s+ 128gb) my Latest Android was a Motorola Droid Turbo 64gb.

I do miss the above features but I find that I type better with the Apple Keyboard. the notifications are not as good to me (as stated) but overall my experience is good. I am still learning my way around the iPhone and have to ask my 13 yr old for help (he just go an iPhone 6, 64gb). I was surprised to find Google Keep, along with all the google apps I used in my android world, to help with my transition.

I have noticed a few quirks with the iOS but nothing major to me yet. I still get to use Android as one of my cars has an Android headunit and I still have an Android tablet.

IOS needs to put the temperature on the top bar. Sounds small and stupid but I got used to it in Android and miss it with my 6 plus. A new Android phone feels Really new. There are so many choices. I don't feel like I'm missing much with the 6s. It looks and feels about like what I have now. Battery life on my plus trounces anything I've had on Android. The sealed cases are a killer in my book. No extended battery. I hate Safari. It lags, it hiccups and sometimes just stops loading. It doesn't play well with the Amazon website. I use Amazon alot and Safari gets in the way. In the end though I'll probably continue with the iPhones.

even with all the things you've listed,
IOS looks, feel, and fluidity is miles above any android/skin.
it's just is. wanna talk about lags and hiccups?

My S6 edge was on par with my iPhone 6 in smoothness but my 6s is way behind it. The S6 edge was faster as well.

it may be smooth,
but i never seen such a horrible uninviting interface as Touchwiz.
my eyes cannot survive 5 seconds with it.
that's why i got M7 at the time.
and STILL, IOS is way way way more nice on the eyes.
Android on smartphone simply doesn't cut it for me.
not even clean google.
about customizing -
yes Android is almost fully customizable,
but for me it's a double doorway for also lots of inconsistencies, and other very annoying trouble.

it not the same debate as PC vs MAC. i work only on PCs and it's perfectly fine.
but when i need a phone to work in my hands,
it has to be a very accessible and easy fluid task.
is in this situation IOS + hardware combo wins big time.

the samsung phones also require you to wake the phone up before using the fingerprint scanner dont they?

So you don't have to do the same with your iPhone? Dam I wish my 6, 6s and Air 2 was like yours.

When was the last time you used touchwiz? You can change it now in the theme store. Personally I don't like the white that Apple use but each to their own. That is why on my iPhone 6 I changed it to a darker colour.

I don't use touchwiz on Samsung much because I use Nova Prime.

i dunno, i had terrible experience with android and skins.
they just don't look and act as efficient as the IOS (again with 100% hardware integration!).

for people who want tweaking and control, i guess Android may fit them better on most occasions.

but whenever i stumble upon a Note 5 interface i just play with it for 5 secs and gets really annoyed.
too much hassle going on. totally futile hassle.
their way of thinking is just plain WRONG.
and i personally hate tweaking and changing skin.
i want one clean OS that just works.
initially i had the same problems with HTC's Android,
which is FAR better than any Samsung.
i lived in peace with it for a while, but then i just woke up.
(i had Iphone 4 before HTC)
