Here is my plan, is there any holes in it? currently have iPhone 4 and a go phone, I am going to add a line, swap the sims between the new iPhone and the old so I have the old plan on the new phone, then put the new sim in the gophone. Then call att and drop the data plan cause the gophone does not require a data plan. then only out another $8 bucks a month after my discount and each year will have a line that is ready for upgrade.

How about breaking out the texting in the table. Doesn't AT&T charge $20 for unlimited texting? What about Verizon and Sprint? How many texts, if any, are included automatically, and how much does it cost per text if you go over that amount?

AT&T doesn't use CDMA like the other two which allows both chatting and surfing at the same time.

if it hasnt been said. my brother on verizon with a bionic can chat and surf at the same time now. i have also noticed that the "only done on att" commercials are a thing of the past.

Incorrect. For Sprint if you want unlimited voice minutes on an iPhone, it will cost you $99 / month for voice and unlimited data + $10 / month smartphone surcharge.

Right, 'for voice and unlimited data,' the chart states its for voice and texts only.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Lol hahaha

Now make the significant comparison, the one with any number of minutes + texting + decent (5+ gb) data, and see that Sprint cleans the floor with the competition by more than 5$.

What about those of us who don't come close to the AT&T 250mb plan because we're always in wifi?

I think I've said this before but I just can't help wondering how seriously high the prices are on the other side of the pond.

99 USD/month for unlimited data? Over 100 USD/month for 12 GB? That's a joke here in Finland, where you can get unlimited data (speed/amount) for like 15 EUR/month. Oh and that includes mobile hotspot (the carriers don't even care how we use the connection we've paid for).

NO PRICE FIXING TO SEE HERE... MOVE ALONG NOW....

You see more variance in gasoline prices from one station to the next.

Has anyone done a comparison of the family plans? I'm on AT&T, but my significant other is currently on Sprint and I was trying figure out the price difference between me moving to Sprint versus her moving to AT&T.

Unbelievable. How have these companies convinced us to pay that much money for data? Or to pay for incoming texts? "Free market" my ass

If you get good AT&T coverage, stick with them.

No one size fits all, people with different needs and priorities sign with different networks.

I currently have a iPhone 4 with AT&T that I got at launch in June 2010. I kept my $30 unlimited data plan. I also have a $5 for 200 messages TXT plan. Am I going to be able to keep those when I get a iPhone 4S? I will be eligible in November.

I think the real problem is for some reason the AT&T frequencies just don't penetrate buildings very well.

In the San Francisco area, they don't even penetrate air that well. I'm still torn on which carrier to sign up with when I get 2 iPhone 4S (that's iPhone 4S x 2) next week. I like the idea of Verizon's coverage and better voice quality, but will really miss the ability to use voice and data simultaneously, and the CDMA data speeds seem quite slow by today's standards. I'm too scared to try Sprint because their coverage doesn't seem very good and I don't trust them to keep this unlimited data plan.

Does anyone know if Visual Voicemail works on Verizon? Back in the early days I heard it didn't, that would be a deal-killer for me right there.

I think Sprint includes Texting with that price too.

It does, plus navigation, etc. Not to mention free mobile-to-any mobile minutes (not charged minutes for calls made to cell phones, regardless of network).

Sprint's plans include unlimited texting as part of the overall base subscription price.

10 Bucks for unlimited data on Sprint - lets see how long that will last. I give it a year or 6 months...

Technically the plan's base price includes unlimited data. The chart is misleading. The $10/mo. fee is assessed for all smartphones (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.).

you should be fine.

This is inaccurate! If you are going to compare to Sprint Unlimited data, then you should compare to the largest available data plan on ATT and Verizon, the 12GB plan, as it is the most comparable to what you will get with sprint!

ATT $204.99, Sprint $99.99, Verizon $179.99 per month for the most complete plans each offers.

Capitalism only works 4 consumers when companies #CompeteOnPrice

That's absurd.

Rather, that's absurd to anyone who doesn't use 12gb of data.

Think of it this way: what's more valuable?
2 1/2lb hamburgers for $5
All the 1/2lb hamburgers you can eat for $10

Spend $10, and you barely get through the second hamburger before you can't eat anymore.

If someone does use a lot of data, by all means Sprint is better. But I barely use more than 1GB as it is. Plus I have a grandfathered unlimited that I'm probably going to ditch to save another $5/mo.

It's not worth spending more money on sprint to get the same amount of service

12gb. Bah.

Apparently You've Never Read Your Contract...

I am shocked at the number of people who were surprised to see what it cost to operate the iPhone they use.

Talk about blind followers with no clue... Sheesh

For those in the UK, is Three's One Plan still the best value?

Inclusive UK voice minutes: 2000 mins
Inclusive UK text messages: 5000 texts
Three-to-Three UK calls: 5000 mins
Internet Allowance: All-you-can-eat Data (Totally unlimited inc Personal Hotspot)

£69 ($106) for iPhone + £35/Month ($54/Month)

AT&T's pricing is absolutely disgusting;

$125 for only 12gb of data versus Sprint's $10 for unlimited?

What kind of idiot would chose AT&T over Sprint where both are available?

I suppose the kind of "idiots" who don't want data hogs downloading 12gb of data, slowing down the network for everyone else, and only paying $10 to support the network they're putting so much load on. I'm not saying that no one ever has a use for that much data. Some people do. That's fine -- those some people should pay more.

Honestly, I do NOT understand the aversion to pay-by-usage in this country. If you're using a larger share of the pipe than other people, why should you not pay more than other people? It works that way for electricity, water, gas, trash (in a lot of places), even cell service when you're talking about texting or voice. Pretty much every other utility I pay for is pay-by-usage. Why should internet be so different? Local calls on land-line telephones are the one exception, but they are so overpriced to start with, it's not a good example.

Has it occurred to you that if you were charged by the MB instead of by the Mbps, they could uncap Mbps? (at least partially) Food for thought...

I can only afford unlocked devices without data plans :( wifi is abundant enough

I can't wait until my contract is over with AT&T in about a year so I can move to Sprint with true unlimited data. By then, there will probably be a new iPhone (iPhone 5) so that will be a bonus.

Hope its still around next year

Seriously, I do hope it is
----------

Remember Sprint's 450 minutes are Land Line. Mobile to Mobile is unlimited no matter the carrier.

As is ATT when you select unlimited msg
