Waiting for my snugg wallet case to arrive.. Got phone today so want case to arrive soon. Arriving sat I think
Thanks for this, I viewed the hardgraft sleeve and it looks perfect for what I need.Received mine this week. The dark felt/brown heritage option. Absolutely beautifully made (as I'd expect from Hard Graft - I've got one of their iPad cases).
The fit is snug (phone doesn't fall out if held upside down), but not so snug that it is difficult to remove - its easy enough to either grab from the opening, but the rigidity of the new leather combined with the felt means it isn't so easy to push up from the bottom. The phone sits a little below the top of the sleeve too so it is well protected.
Size wise, well it obviously adds some bulk, but will still comfortably sit in a jeans pocket.
As for photos - the ones shown on the Hard Graft site (even though its the 4S version) do the case far more justice than mine ever could.![]()
I have that wallet for the iPhone 4/4S and it's very nice actually. The only thing about it is that I have the All Grey version, and it's not as dark as the pictures on the site. But the wallet is definitely very nice, it has an overall snug fit, and it'll loosen up to the phone's shape over time. Been using it for almost a year, but ever since I got the iPhone 5, I'm wondering if I should get the iPhone 5 version, or try out something else for them just for a change.
Thanks, do you use it as your regular wallet as well, like for cards and $ bills? Would you say it is slim enough for a front pocket without getting in the way? Thanks again
It's definitely slim enough to be used on your front pocket, in fact that's where I always put mine. Even when I used to use the iPhone 4S on it, it felt nice and slim, only thing that added bulk to the wallet was the fact that I would have a lot of cards on it.
As for cash, that is definitely an issue. I don't really carry any cash around me, maybe like one or two bills here and there, but when it came to cash, there was no real proper way to put it in the wallet right. If you fold the bill in half, like in a bifold, and slip it in there, once you close it, the edge that sticks out of the little pocket, will fold along with the wallet. So when you take the bill out, it'll have this really strange folded edge that just mades your bills look strange. The only way that I found to counter this was to fold it to 1/4th the size of the bill. In other words, fold it in half twice, and it'll sit neatly in the inside pockets. Unfortunately, this will only work with a few bills, if you're the kinda of guy that likes to carry a lot of cash with you, you can forget it, as it'll add unnecessary bulk and you might not be able to close the wallet like you're supposed to.
For credit cards or cards in general, I could fit in there at least 3 cards in the pocket without feeling any bulk at all, along with some receipts from important purchases (about 4 receipts). One small problem I did have however, was that at my job, I was mostly exposed to dust almost all day long. Some of this fine dust found it's way inside my pockets, and eventually inside the wallet. Then, because the cards aren't sitting in there snuggly like the iPhone, they'll move around a bit, and the dust would get them to scratch a lot. I believe the newer universal Phone Fold Wallet solves this by having individual card slots, so this shouldn't be an issue anymore. I haven't noticed any of my cards being scratched anymore now that I work in an office, just normal tear and wear from not having a snug fit, but nothing compared to that fine dust scratching them like I mentioned earlier.
Finally, this wasn't a problem but I'd like to mention it. The stretching. The side where the iPhone is, expect the leather to stretch to the dimensions of the outer edge of the phone. For the pocket where you keep your cash or cards, as long as you don't use more cards than the case can handle, you shouldn't see any stretching on that side, but I believe over time, it'll leave a permanent rectangular stretch of your card. Which funnily circles around that etched "x" that you see on the promo pictures, so I believe this is intended to happen over time.
I don't know what to compare the feel of the wallet with the iPhone inside, but I guess it could feel like an iPhone with an Otterbox case in your front pocket. Then, depending on how many cards you want to take, it'll feel a bit bulkier, but that was never a problem for me. I wear regular and classic fit jeans, and I never felt the wallet bother me in any way. I still use it today, but obviously not with the iPhone 5, just the wallet itself and I believe it was a good purchase.
Edit: I just found a review for the 4th Generation Phone Fold Wallet, and this guy does not recommend it for the iPhone 5 due to the fact that he feels it doesn't keep the wallet closed securely, and it feels a little too big for an iPhone 5.
Link to Review.
Wow, thanks for the detailed response. But I think the review you linked is about the iPhone Fold Wallet Plus which is the big wallet on Hard Graft's website and you have the regular iphone Fold Wallet, correct?

No problem, and correct. I only posted the link since I did mention it as a "solution" to the card problem I posted earlier.
And the Card Holder is like a little pocket specifically tailored for a Credit/Debit Card or any other card with the dimensions of a Credit or Debit card. You can definitely put cash in there, but you'll have to fold it correctly or else it won't fit snuggly, and only one card can fit there. That's not correct, I just found it hard to get out the card that I needed since it was a tight fit. Which gave me the idea that it was just meant to hold one card, and maybe a bill or two. Maybe it'll loosen up over time, but since I never tried it I wouldn't know.
That looks really nice. Do you have any additional pics or feedback on it?
Thanks
Yeah, I don't tend to hold cash on me either. But I hate having multiple items in my pockets and I also like the idea of the iphone 5 itself being naked so I thought maybe the regular Fold Wallet might be ideal for me. Do you think it would be adequate for maybe an ID and a couple cards?
I am not sure if these have come up yet, probably have, but I have been looking into possibly getting one of these. http://www.brussardo.com/iphone-cases/iphone-5-wallet-case.html
Finally went with ordering this wallet sleeve from Etsy. Looks like it should be really nice and made of high quality leather.http://www.etsy.com/listing/111804152/n-e-w-arrival-iphone-5-case-card-case
I'm stuck between these two cases, can anyone provide reviews/ recommendations!?

Please post an update when you reiceve this one. I'm thinking about buying one. I don't understand why there's money sticking out the bottom though.
I just received that case from etsy. I got it in light grey with an olive lining and it's excellent for the price. The phone fits perfectly and it doesn't add too much bulk, except it obviously makes it a bit wider. The credit card spot is perfect as well. My case has slightly more of an overhang at the top than pictured, about 4mm which isn't too much but adds a nice bit of protection. It's really soft so great for laying your phone on if you keep it naked and don't want it scratching on surfaces. I had a Sena Ultraslim, similar to the beyzacases, for my iPhone 4S and it was really tight. The raw leather seem ended up polishing the steel band leaving permanent lines up the side so I thought I would try something different this time. And i'm glad I did!
anybody know any nice sleeves similar to MAKR made in the EU? i really dont fancy paying vat and all that crap.
all ive seen so fat is mujjo...

I'm trying to decide between the Puhama wallet case on Etsy and the Hardgraft Fold Wallet:

Price tag is roughly the same... What do you guys think?
Like I said, it really depends on how many cards because if you put too many the snap mechanism will close, but it'll be a bit open up and so it won't "close" like it's supposed to. Instead of the wallet closing tightly like a nice sandwich, it'll instead bulge a bit on the side where you put the credit cards, and it'll look like it's about to "pop" if you get what I mean.
From my experience, I was only able to hold 1 card in the specific credit card holder, then my ID and my Best Buy Rewards zone card (I shop there often), and another miscellaneous card or two, and a few important receipts, and that was enough for it to start to feel slightly bulky.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I get out of work to explain what I'm talking about.![]()
