imo just use cleaning wipes for lcd screens. Dont use compressed air, sometimes the liquid comes out when you spray.

Only use water and a cleaning cloth for glasses/specs (visit a specs store). That way you'll be sure of just wiping off dust and smudges, and nothing else.

2 years of saving for this machine is absolutely crazy. Return it and save more, you could use the money on something much more important one day.

But yeah, unless you're wiping the screen with sandpaper you should be good

Dear macfreak101 - please ease up on the caffeine.

First, not everything you read on the internet is true. Second, do some primary research. Here's one video that walks through cleaning your rMBP. Simply - a microfiber cloth slightly moistened with water.

I have the first retina Mbp. I have seen no such issue but I did have to have the display replaced for a completely separate issue. The first retina pros had a serious image retention problem. The second wave and all models sense have no such issue.

How has the computer been so far? How's the battery life and performance? Did you purchase the extended warranty?

My 2 cents - my battery life is dependent upon what I'm doing. Simply surfing the web, it could go upwards to 7 hours (mostly because I have the "dim display" turned off). Using Lr and PS CC - 4 to 5.

There are specific circumstances you need to do to get that 9 hours - turn off Bluetooth, make sure the "dim display" is turned on, and...no Flash sites.

Keep in mind that even the best WinDoze computers really can't do that good. My wife's latest laptop is supposed to have up to 9 hours. She averages 4-5, and that's just doing email and web. The culprit? You guessed it - Flash.
