I like it, reminds me of a more bluish slate. Gives it a bit more character.

I prefer the deep blue (midnight blue to match the naming conventions of watch strap?) to space grey but I thought the black iPhone 5 was fantastic and hope it can return some day. I rocked that iPhone 5 in black for 2 years without a case, loved it.

Yep, Midnight Blue to match the watch strap and case colors.

How about black? It's been a while since there's been a true black iPhone. Or white, for that matter, though I know aluminum can't be made white.

I miss the days when Apple products came in either white or black, my two favorite colors. The iPhone 5C looked good with a white back, but the front was black which I think ruined it. It's time they did something truly all white or all black.
Would be amazing if Apple used really deep black..

Great colour! Shame this rumour got leaked, would have been a nice surprise. Now every other manufacture will come out with this colour phone before Apple's release. I guess that's what happens when you take so long to market.

I have to give it to Apple, they do make pretty hardware (even if it is useless like the Apple TV 3 remote).

Following rumors that Apple is prepping a "Deep Blue" or "Dark Blue" color option to replace the Space Gray color for the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, designer Martin Hajek has created some renderings imagining what such handsets might look like.

Hajek's renderings reflect myriad rumors pointing towards only minor changes for the 2016 iPhone. When it comes to size and thickness, the iPhone 7 is expected to be almost identical to the iPhone 6s, with some minor antenna band changes.

Apple is likely to remove the headphone jack in the iPhone 7, but whether or not the space will be filled with a second speaker is contested. Some rumors suggest dual speakers for stereo audio, but others say the iPhone 7 will continue to sport a single speaker.

Another design change rumored for the iPhone 7 includes repositioned antenna bands, with the removal of the bands that span across the back of the device. Inside, the iPhone 7 is expected to have an A10 processor and 2GB RAM.

Hajek's iPhone 7 Plus rendering shows the inclusion of a much-rumored dual-lens camera with a protruding, pill-shaped enclosure, as opposed to two separate circular camera openings depicted in some other online renderings.

Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to launch in September this year.

MacRumors also recently featured some impressive renderings by Hajek of what a next-generation MacBook Pro might look like, complete with rumored OLED touch panel replacing the top row of function keys on the keyboard.

Very nice looking!! Although I'm still confused why they don't just offer a black option? THe space grey gets progressively lighter and is nowhere near a black color or even something I would consider dark.

Looks great, bus as many others have said I would never dream of using it without a case. I can't afford to buy a new phone every few months. The thing is slippery as a fish.

It's an okay color, certainly less offensive than rose gold. But the people in charge of design and branding at Apple are losing their way. One of the things that has always made Apple stand apart was the iconic modernistic design of it's products. They looked like they were time machined from some near future, but not in a Buck Rogers corny way. Rather a Danish modern future. More and more Apple is chasing contemporary design trends, and the results look like products you'd pick up in the Bed Bath and Beyond.
Just ugly.

I suggest they furnish a room with products from DWR and B+O. Place a couple iconic devices around the room. A Leica camera or two. An Italian commercial espresso machine. Then drop the Apple product in the room. Does it look like a cheap piece of junk in that context? Do over.
Above all, I don't want an Apple product that comes in the same colors as a Ford Taurus.

I still have an old 4s - that's black?

Black housing with black face is my preference. I settle with Space Gray.

It's still space grey, but back then space grey was much darker. Yeah I think I'd be ok with the old 4s space grey, although I will still hope against hope that they release a true black color. With the beautiful, unblemished and unbranded front/back of the iphones a full black model would just look incredible, maybe with a reflective black apple logo on the back, or the silver is just f ine.

The blue depicted here is very nice, I'm sure they will sell a lot of those. But IMO they would sell MUCH more of a black model. Anyone have any good mockups of a black ip7?

The life of Apple - emoji, device colours, and watch bands.

WHAT ... you mean Apple doesn't use military-grade anodizing ... that's it, the blooms off.

lmao. My point is you can do black that doesn't scratch easily. I don't think you'd have as smooth a texture and that probably is a big factor.

Deep blue doesn't look too bad, looks like the custom housing I had on my iPhone 5, now if they would only make a deep blue front as well, but we all know it will be black.

they wouldn't kill space grey for a blue color. they can kill it for another darker color though. slate? yes

I don't know... will have to see it. If it's more a gunmetal blue, as I suspect, it could look quite good.

Apple; however, will most certainly not refer to the color as gunmetal blue out of (over?) sensitivity.

I like it. But I don't think Apple would scrap the spacy gray color. Why not offer the new color in addition to the colors already available?

So basically slate black, similar to the iPhone 5. That would be completely fine with me. I've always preferred that to space gray. Hopefully they've advanced the anodization process so that it's less prone to scratching than the iPhone 5.

That camera bump is getting a life of it's own. Like a tumor. Is it supposed to be even thicker in this new version? Hopefully our cases won't need bumps as well. Damn. I understand that physics are a thing, but so are making phones thicker with bigger batteries. It's not as sexy, but hopefully if they do make an iPhone Pro, it's at least thicker with a bigger battery, like the MacBook Pro.

That dual-camera mockup looks really futuristic and amazing to me for some reason. It's just unfamiliar—like something you'd see in a sci-fi movie. I like it. I really hope that they can bring that technology over to the smaller iPhone in the next version, because unless it's the most magical camera ever made, there's no way I'm going back to the Plus size. For me, it's just too freaking big and annoying. I might consider the plus someday if they can significantly reduce the bezel. But still probably not. I seriously think I was starting to get some kind of disorder in my thumb from one-handing that monster and trying to reach things up high.
