If Apple would finally ditch the enormous bezels they could nearly fit a 15" screen into a 13" or 13.5" case.
I think that would be very good, the current 15" MacBook Pro trackpad looks too small compared to the rest of the laptop. There is plenty of room so I hope they use it.If you look carefully, this concept maintains the same trackpad size. Like Magic Trackpad before it, I think Apple will increase the size of trackpad (if there's a room anyway) and increase the size of each key (like on Magic Keyboard).
I'm baffled by Apple's quest to make everything thinner, even when it causes significant compromises. Is Jony projecting his own personal issues onto the hardware or something?
Thinner, I don't really care. Lighter, though, yeah. My back sure would appreciate that.
Actually more like two, when you consider what the original iMac was designed to replace.
Considering some of their design decisions lately (Magic Mouse port, Apple Pencil charging via iPad, iP6+ battery case), I wouldn't be surprised.![]()
Yes. He is out of real ideas. But ... the thinner and thinner thing has worked so far. Frankly it's all they got ... so they'll keep doing it.

Wow. So 3lbs for the current laptops is too much on your back? I gotta say, I feel sorry for you dude.
That's only part of the story of course: Between the pants you wear and the wallet and iphone in your pockets ... my god! that must add up to 5 pounds or so!!! I can't believe your knees can even sustain that incredible weight!
Then that girly iwatch on your wrist ... they gotta reduce the weight of that in v.2, or it's gonna hurt the limp part of it.

I said 'for the past decade or so'. You bring up the original iMac ... which came out almost 20 years ago (yes, 18 to be exact). So not sure what point you're trying to make.
TBF, I think the Pencil charging is way overblown. They give you the option to top off the pencil with the iPad (or fully charge it, your choice) or you can use the included adapter and charge it with a standard lighting cable. I think that was a smart idea, but people look at it as 'I have to have this thing dangling from my iPad for hours and it'll break so easily' instead of '30 seconds of charge via my iPad will give me an hour of use with the pencil if I don't have the cable nearby'.
Oh and the 6 Plus doesn't have a battery case.![]()
I just imagined Johnny as a fat little boy with a complex and laughed so hard I cried!I'm baffled by Apple's quest to make everything thinner, even when it causes significant compromises. Is Jony projecting his own personal issues onto the hardware or something?
100% exactly right, a USB port as it stands now is very different from an optical drive and I don't see that changing for at least another 3 years.Lose USB 3 = Lose me as a customer. Pro should not mean that the user has to be a pro Macgyver at having just the right adapter for any and every situation under the sun when in need. The device should already be EQUIPPED. How's that for GREAT DESIGN?
The adoption rate on USB C hasn't been phenomenal. Granted, the change will eventually come. I hate the length of time it takes to transition to a new standard. What a pain.
Thinner, I don't really care. Lighter, though, yeah. My back sure would appreciate that.
Yuck. The keyboard spacing is weird. I also will never buy a MacBook that isn't silver. I do hope they leave the glowing Apple logo.
Yep. Enough is enough. The obsession with making things thinner will sooner or later (i bet sooner) "kill" the Pro name anyways...It's possible MagSafe may be on the way out so...
No MagSafe = no more MacBooks for you (?)
In the age of tablets the laptop would already be dead, if it hadn't become thinner and lighter as well. Do you want to go back to spinning disks? I know I don't.Yep. Enough is enough. The obsession with making things thinner will sooner or later (i bet sooner) "kill" the Pro name anyways...

Or...ya know- people might value the lightest machine possible (while balancing this with the power of the machine)? For anyone that travels a lot with a minimal amount of baggage, this is something that would be very valuable.
