I’d buy blue in a heartbeat. I’m not sure I’d want the white bezels/keyboard though.

Those are butt ugly... and scream everything except professional anything (except maybe professional clown). No thanks.
It's a matter of taste. What "professional" looks like is in the eye of the beholder. We've been taught to believe that only gray, silver and black are "professional" colors for tech, but professional artists prefer a wide variety of colors, and they could hardly be considered "clowns".

I'm not trying to be smart here, but was this meant to be a joke? If Apple does this, I don't think they could make the MacBook lineup look worse. This is atrocious

Gray, Silver, Black, and an old school White like way back in the day...but that's about it if you ask me.

They can reserve colors for an entry level lineup. MacBook Air?

Saying that colors make something ‘non-professional’ is more than that.
Some people live a life in a certain way from being taught what 'professional'means. I certainly was brought up this way, but managed to see beyond it. Blame society.

I feel being 'professional' is actually fake. The amount of so called professionals I have worked with who are borderline incompetent is crazy. It is the facade of professionalism, and the appearance of being solid and dependable which is why they dont want the colours.

Suffice to say, despite being a creative, I will be space grey / silver everyday of the week, for the same reasons whatl I wear everyday is the same. I love the colours, but not for me unless they coordinate with everything.

I’m convinced people who hate colors on electronics hate fun. As long as they’re well executed, they don’t “kill professionalism.”

That said, certain devices lend themselves better to non-neutral colors than others. I’m all over the purple M1 iMac and sierra blue iphone, but I prefer my laptops in silver. But hey, that could just bc laptops have been so restricted color-wise for so long (and I’m not a fan of gold.)

The MBA refresh next year is where they’re supposed get colors, so I’ll have to see them in person first before determining whether I like them more than the classic silver.

Artists are probably the ones who benefit most from having plain computers, so as to avoid any influence on the hues in the graphics they create.

I agree professional seems to be a very loaded term, especially around the Pro products from Apple, where it seems it is only allowed to refer to a small subset of professionals. Colour is not unprofessional for most.

Exactly. I work with colour everyday - I dont want more colour in my tools….
