well technically it was accurate up until they came up with something different. they had that trademarked and everything. but closer to the launch the rumored name changed to the one it was launched with. we are a month out, it's going to be iPhone Ultra... now the argument about it being a good name is a different thing.
So how do you explain this?
Last night, the iOS 11 GM was leaked and we got a glimpse into numerous iPhone 8 features, including a look at a new edition of the Apple Watch, and even new "Animoji". Now, developer Steve Troughton-Smith has dug up new info related to the official names of the iPhones being announced on...

Literally only leaked three days before the event, up until then everyone was convinced it would be called the 7S, 7S+ and 8 or even āiPhone editionā.

Again, less than 24 hours before the event where it was announced.
as for your Vision Pro claim, youāre just wrong because the Vision Pro name was never even rumored, it was never leaked, it was a complete surprise at the event. This is literally just two days before that yearās WWDCā¦

As far as I can tell, looking through every source and every rumor about the product, the actual name āiPhone Ultraā has not leaked in any actual capacity. No leaked internal iOS builds, no leaked Apple marketing, no internal documents, nothing. Itās literally just the name that Gurman and other news sources have given it just based off of nothing but feelings and vibes.
In fact, the last we heard, literally the only evidence for it being a thing is that people within Apple have been calling it that, which means absolutely nothing. Most people working on unreleased Apple products have no idea the official marketing name until the rest of us find out. Joz literally said during an interview that only a small group of senior vice presidents within Apple ever knew the Vision Pro name before the event.
In fact, thereās a little bit of evidence against it, seeing as that Mark has been calling the AirPods with cameras the āAirPods Ultraā⦠until last week, when that macOS build with all of those leaked products clearly shows that itās labeled as āAirPodsPro1,4ā. And he has completely backed off from calling the OLED MacBook Pro the āUltraā as well, because it is clearly just the next generation of the MacBook Pro.
If AirPods Ultra arenāt real, and MacBook Ultra arenāt real, and itās the exact same source saying those were real as saying the iPhone Ultra is, that probably means that the name iPhone Ultra is also not real.
