Bingo.

A lot of others in this thread couldn't envision a use for this, so they automatically think it is a stupid idea. I didn't jump to your use case, but I am open minded enough to believe that there might be a use I wasn't considering.

I'll second that 'bingo'. This is likely nothing more than a fringe use case... but that doesn't mean it's not an important use case.

What exactly should Apple do about a yet undeveloped 3rd party SDK that may or may not be used by anyone?

What 'can' they do? Lots. Apple controls the user experience, so prohibiting this behavior would be easy.

What 'should' they do? Nothing. Every App Developer has the right to block screenshots. Every user has the right to tell the App Developer to pound sand. End of day things will find balance.

Missing the point: They should do nothing about a non-existent SDK that no one's using because it's non-existent and no one's using it.

Soon enough they will be blocking the ability to copy-paste text on your phone. Oh wait, that already happened, and after a large public uproar, the feature was implemented.

Point being: If you don't want the ability to take screenshots gone, raise your voice about this issue. If it persists, and you don't agree with it, then consider not using the app in question.

As soon as this is possible (in the future) they will prevent you from remembering movies or music if you don't pay for a licence to do so.

Interesting... wonder how much they are going to charge for it? My money is on some type of licensing deal that requires yearly renewals for developers to use it. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
