It's really as simple as1) download Xcode. (2) plug in your iPad. (3) open Xcode. (4) hit " use for development" in Xcode. (5) use your new gesture features.

Yeah, but this topic is about iOS 5 and this doesn't work with latest beta.
No it is not a marketing strategy. When switching on apps with gestures on iOS 4, it takes a good amount of time to refresh/reload the app to its save state. On iOS 5, on iPad 2, however, swiping left and right between apps is seamless and there is usually no wait on the refresh. This is good old apple saying "if it's not perfect, you don't get it (aside from the i3G iOS 4 mishap).
they wouldn't really work, 4 fingers is a nightmare to try and do properly, let alone 5!

Thank you for this, but it didn't do anything on the GM for me. I even restarted the iPad, but the preference isn't there, and the gestures don't work.
