They do play 1 game a year in England, and are mulling over a decision to play in Japan, don't know if that one will fly, but it would be a good thing if they do it.

Technically if the game isn't played anywhere else then "world champions" would be fitting... who's to challenge it?
The NFL has apparently even floated the idea of holding the Superbowl in England, fergawdzsakes!  :(

I really was thinking that the Patriots would win (and I favored them, but only because Tom Brady is from the Bay Area :p JK), but I'm glad the Giants won. They really had to fight hard to get there, and they kept on fighting until the last minute. Good for them! :)

[and I agree; the game was boring as hell until the last ~10 minutes!:D]

Well no matter what some people might say after this game...Tom Brady is still a darn good quarterback.

I was rooting for the Giants...but I would pretty much root against anyone playing the Patriots. Great work by the Giants D in particular, getting after Brady consistently all game long.

That catch by David Tyree capped off a play which was nothing short of amazing.

I actually think we discovered the few weaknesses Brady has in today's game. When the Giants gave him little time to work with, he froze up and threw useless passes or got sacked. Other more nimble quarterbacks move and doge (I mean Eli dodging 3 Pats and throwing a great pass is a good example-all under pressure).

Nonetheless, Brady is a great quarterback and the Patriots are a good team. This Superbowl was really between the two best teams IMHO, and the Giants proved themselves to be marginally better. :)

I could care less about the super bowl or for any sport for that matter. There's nothing special about sports imo.

Well then, I guess that leaves a lot more time for you to play World of Warcraft, or whatever.

Hold on there!!! If you were really a fan you would recall that they went UNDEFEATED the ENTIRE season. How can you now turn around and call them worthless after that?!?

They went undefeated in the regular season. Who gives a ****. It doesn't mean anything now.

ESPN showed an interesting stat, the Pats are the only team to go 18-1 and not win the Superbowl.

Did you know the Yankees were the only team to blow a 3 games to 0 lead in the ALCS?
Yes and this game will go right next to that one. If you think about it the Giants played a better post season. They were the underdog in all 4 games. The lowest seed to ever win a SB.

You can't deny that this was the biggest choke job in NFL history.

What was the spread? 14 points?

Whoops!

I could really care less but I was rooting for the Giants. Boring as hell til the last few minutes, ugh.

Now...where is my House?

Well the Super Bowl is usually the most boring game of the season.

I didn't care who won, although it would have been cool to see sports history happen. Oh well, at least the commercials for the most part were entertaining.

AFL (aussie rules footy) plays one game a year in England too and they play it extensively in Japan too (although not under AFL) and the champion team doesnt call themselves the "world champions". the MBL and NBA do it too.

its like Americans think that no other country can beat them in these sports. its not the olympics. if a team wins a gold medal in say water polo or cycling they are the true world champions as they challenged other teams from different parts of the World.

Well, I'm happy! I despise the Pats. (Colts fan :D)
This is probably one of the only times I was cheering for a NY team!

I also think that despite going undefeated in the regular season, there will always be 'spygate' hanging over it. As well as the SB loss.

I'm ready for Boston teams to go away for awhile. Red Sox, Pats, Celtics. I dislike them all!

Actually, as I recall, the Steelers were the lowest seed to ever win it all (6 seed). The Football Giants are the lowest NFC seed to win the Super Bowl (5 seed). Of course, the Seahawks got robbed (and then cried for the next two years and counting) in the Steelers game.

And, yes, the Yankees choked, but it was a different choke. 3-0 to lose 3-4 is a single series. More akin to The Comeback. There has never been anything like this in baseball.

that pass from Eli to Pats 25 yards line, was amazing.

Not a Patriots fan. But the Giants winning the SB was a joke. Just like their wins over the Packers and Cowboys. Not so much a case of them winning as the other team letting them win. Here you go Giants, we don't really want it. Tony Romo said it, then Brett Favre said it, now the Patriots said it.

What else do you call it when Manning should have been sacked and completes that pass. The very next play after what should have been an interception. And if I'm not mistaken there was another should've been interception a couple plays after that pass. Sorry, total joke.

You can argue that he eluded a sack and made a great play, but what really happened is got totally and completely utterly lucky again, b/c it is Eli Manning we are talking about.
