The last two we had in the house wore down after 2-3 years. Other than that nice case.

First couple of weeks it’s a lint magnet. However it does go away.

lint magnet and if you wear tight jeans/clothing, hard to get in and out of the pocket.
I don't wear tight clothes, but the phone sticking to the pocket is the #1 reason I'm returning my leather case for Silicone. I just want a smidge more grip.

cons of apple silicone case
no cons. probably the best case ive ever used on an iphone. is it worth it for the price? heck no but u know.... gonna buy it anyway lol. as for it being too sticky, i regularly wipe it down with alcohol wipes after being in covid land and now its not sticky anymore LOL. dont know if thats a good thing or not but no issues for me

Absolutely love them - no cons for me. They are much more smooth and less sticky and lint-magnety as they were years back. I have no issues sliding it in and out of the front pocket of my jeans.
I second that! I’ve always had a Speck grip on all my phones but now have the plum silicone and love it. Just feels right in the hand!

Is this really true? I love my deep navy silicone case, but after only using it for a week, there is so much lint that gets stuck to it and then on the phone itself because of that. It goes away eventually?

This has been my experience yes. After a few weeks the case becomes a bit smoother and not as sticky. Not sure why but it happens.

I always preferred the silicone cases over leather. They are far more durable and softer. If it gets dirty all it takes to clean it is a quick wipe with a wet towel. If you’re considering the 12 series I would recommend that you stay far away from the MagSafe charger. It ruined my Kumquat case after less than a month of use. It has nothing to do with the quality of the case. I used Apples silicone case with a wireless charger on my iPhone 11 for a year and it still looked brand new when I sold it. The problem is the charger, not the case.

Does this happen just with the Apple MagSafe charger or any wireless charger in general?

It’s an imprint from the MagSafe magnet pulling the charger into place.
I believe Apple added disclaimers that this is expected behaviour before the cases launched a while ago.

Good to know! Thanks! I was going to get an Apple MagSafe puck, but now I think I’ll just stick with the Samsung wireless charger I have. I used it with my 8 Plus and still works with my 12 Pro Max as well.
It’s probably a better option for now. Apple has struggled when it comes to wireless charging solutions, if you recall AirPower or whatever the mat was called. Now MagSafe, which is not quite safe for your cases or phones. I’ll stay well away from any first gen wireless charging solution Apple introduces. Apple Watch is the exception though lol.

Lack of metal buttons
Fatter & Heavier feeling than leather
That’s it.
Overall decent if you’re into cases.

If you have dry hands at times silicone can add some extra dryness

I always debate which I prefer leather or silicone

I think leather but they’re both nice and have their place

I’ve had no problem with using Clorox wipes on my 11 pros leather cases . I got a mophie uv as well, so that’s another thing one can use to keep it clean.

Where the silicone beats leather is water. Leather gets screwed up with water and you need to let it dry. Silicone solves that problem.
