Given my experience with my 14 Pro Max I think the Plus will be the battery king this year.

Biggest disappointment for me was Promotion. I can’t tell the difference between 60 and 120. Maybe just slightly on the home screens but I believe Safari still does not offer it all yet? Promotion to me means AOD which I like but that is it.

Thanks to your statement I’m little bit more comfortable to not missing promotion. As said before that and telephoto lens are the things that make me hesitate.

I like the idea behind 14 plus and I think it'll sell very well, its just a shame the regular 14 line up is pretty gimped this year. But if you're coming from an iPhone 11 or older I think the 14 plus is a very solid upgrade. The weight to screen ratio is pretty appealing.

I'm keeping my 14 PM. Getting the 14 Plus would probably be a headache because my return window would be closed. I also have grown fond of AOD. But I truly envy the far lighter weight of the 14 Plus.
I mean, what was the reason for the post? You were always going to be outside of the return window before the Plus models even launched.

Read my OP. It's crystal clear mate.

I read it already. You said you were gonna wait until the 14 plus comes out which makes no logical sense as you purchased the Pro Max on launch day. So you would never be within the return window anyway.

Sometimes Apple will extend the return window. I could also sell my 14 PM.

Regardless I'm keeping my 14 PM.

For those concerned about the weight of the 14PM, may I suggest a trip to your local sporting goods store? There you can pick up 2, 4, 6 and 8 ounce weights so you can work your way up to the weight of the 14PM. I suggest 2 a day workouts, starting with the lightest weight. Do 10 curls per arm, and transfer the weight from hand to hand 10 times. Do 3 sets for 10 days, then move to the 4 ounce weights. Repeat until you are up to the 8 ounce weights and the 14PM will feel like a feather to you.

Interesting how I can do 15 reps of 30 lbs with ease but find a Pro Max fatiguing to hold after so many minutes... esp. for hours on end as a weight dragging down my pants on one side. Funny how that works.

But I'll try your trick and get back to you on it.

I’ll make you a bit more comfortable. So forget about 120 Promotion - how about 1hertz (AOD). I played around with it for a few days and really liked it but hated the battery drain using it, it ran like my 12 PM! So I would turn it off, but if I was meeting people I knew, then I would turn it on to impress them and then turn it off when I leave. That is Apple’s version of AOD.

Dynamic Island? It intrudes into the screen enough that the more cinematic videos get letterboxed so as not to have the pill protrude into the video. You probably won’t have that problem - or not as much as the pill people.

The only winner for the Pro Max crowd is the 48 megapixel sensor if you use all of it, the files are superior!

I’m pretty sure the A16 is also a battery hog, so you Plus folk may really have the best battery life of them all!

Thanks mate!

The problem with promotion implementation in last models (variable from 1-10 to 120Hz) is that you can notice some lag when screen is adapting. A little bit different from first ipads pro with 120hz promotion full time that were buttery smooth.

Beside this, if battery life if worse in 14pro/14PM you’re going to have low power mode active some parts of the day, limiting refresh rate up to 60hz. It’s supposed that the case when you notice promotion the most if using different devices with and without promotion, specially coming from 120hz to 60hz. So, with these iphone you are increasing the risk to be aware due to low power mode activation!! It’s funny but real…

Yes, that's because lifting weights for sure isn't the same thing as manipulating a heavy touch screen with your fingers.
That poster isn't factoring in ergonomics.

I wasn’t planning to even look at the 14Plus but I am now seriously considering it over the 14PM.
1) re cameras. I don’t understand what the real differences are between the two phones. Taking great pictures is important to me. I am upgrading from an X.
2) Battery. I want a decent battery. I thought the A16 was way more energy efficient than the A15?
3) Performance. I sense that there is negligible difference between the two
4) Screen. Apart from the refresh rate, seems the two screens are identical?

14+ now available from Apple stores this morning!
Pickup or courier delivery.

I am coming from a 12 Pro and need the better battery life, larger screen size, and SOS emergency feature (fishing remote waters with no cell service).

Had the 14 not had those features, I would have waited for the 15.

I’d rather go 13PM than the 14 plus.
Yes, but if you are in US then pretty much stuck - it is easier to get 14 plus than the old flagman model and it will only get worse over time. 13 pro and maxes are barely sold anywhere and oftentimes locked to certain carriers.

14 Plus will be better to watch some wide screened content on than the 14 PM because of the Island coming farther down the screen. I returned my 14 Pro and am looking forward to getting my 14 Plus today.

between 14 plus v 14 pro max , its no brainer to go for 14 PM . For the extra 200$ we are getting the DI / promotion/ better cameras / not considering AOD as i may turn that off :D
The only drawback would be that extra 40 grams of weight but i think its fine.

Some will be better off with extra 200 in their wallet. It is fascinating but some people do not see 120hz vs 60, then why pay more? On top, it is not like main camera is any worse - you still get the best pictures. Some really don’t need telephoto.

I don't mind the weight holding it or in jeans, but it is a pain in dress pants just because the pockets are so big so it keeps moving around

Only the 14 Pro is capable of 48MP in ProRAW on the main, and it is definitely not to the same quality.
Granted, I'm not claiming the 14 standard serious is wildly inferior, but it isn't a match.

Some direct example comparisons are seen here:

Must be for people who use the camera a lot ?

I don't use the camera or video hardware - mostly my dogs and screenshots is what I use the iPhone for.

Coming from a 12 Pro to 14 Plus is the bigger screen, better battery life, SOS emergency which are the features I use.

Yeah and even if you did, the standard 14 series is still going to take excellent pictures.

For me personally too, it isn't a deal breaker one way or the other for that alone.

I had iphone 13 while wife had 13 pro max - i could take great pictures that i also posted here on macrumors share your photo thread. There were practically no difference.
I don’t expect things to change with this iteration since 14 got their cameras from 13 pro max.
For hardcore i have old sony nex 7 with sel 50 1.8 and zoom 18-200 which greatly superior to any phone camera. By the way, nex 7 + 50 mm lens runs for $500 on ebay - great quality per dollar paid.
