I'm debating wether or not to purchase an iPad Mini. I've got a full size iPad 3 and an iPhone 5, which essentially fulfill all of my needs. What I want the mini for is reading iBooks, web surfing and social networks. I'd be getting the cheapest model, but the price is still the main issue for me. For example, I could get a kindle for less than £100/$150 for reading, but I really like the integration within Apple products, and the great build quality. I'm wondering wether there's anyone out there with a similar set up to me, and wether the iPad Mini is worth it. I know about the low res screen, does this impact things such as iBook reading and web surfing?

Thanks.

Buy one from Apple and try it for 2 weeks... If you are unhappy return it. Problem solved.

Yep, just try one out especially if you come across the one you want because in my parts they aren't easy to come by.

I've had zero issues with the mini loading web pages. The speaker is better, not just different. You can clearly hear different sounds coming from the speakers if you play certain music.
The good news is you get what works for you and I get what works for me. But you don't need to try to justify it one way or the other.
You must have a better ear than I do. To my ear the speakers are to close together to create much of a stereo effect. With both speakers on the bottom any stereo effect you need to hold the mini in portrait mode to get any stereo effect at all, yet the times I would like stereo, movies and games I'm holding the mini in landscape mode. I'm not disappointed with the mini's speakers I just don't find them all that much better than the iPad4. I wholeheartedly agree that the mini and the 4 are both great devices and there is no need to justify choosing one over the other. It's a bit of a problem for me since I have both. My original intent was to try both for a week or two and see which I like better and return the other one. I've had the mini LTE for two days and the 4 WiFi for just over a week. No clear winner so far. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. In all probability I'll probably find some way to convince myself to keep both.
