I really just like the way the white front looks with iOS

This
But with the white bezel you can notice the black frame around the screen. I'm pretty much used to that after 2 white iPhones but it was quite annoying at the beginning.

NewtonPippin chose the model you like, who cares about other people's opinions?
Besides, if you're going to put a case no one will notice you have a gold phone. I have the silver iPhone 6 but I barely remember the back color since I bought the case the same day I got the phone. My iPhone could be the gold model and nobody could tell, the only difference is the gold touch id ring on the front, that looks good by the way.

i have a gold 6 plus. Bought the gold one after using 5 and 5s in black color. and i like the gold very much.

considering iOS is mostly white since iOS 7 i will never get a space grey iPhone ever again + it gets too hot in the summer. loved my silver 5 and loving my gold 6

I am really tempted this time around to go gold on my 6s plus. I really just like the way the white front looks with iOS

Me too, I have a silver iPhone 6 but my first one was space grey and I liked that as well but I have a gold iPad Air 2 and it is not really gold, more of a copper colour.

As for girlie, who cares what other people think.

I went from the original iPhone to a white 4S, then a gold 5S, which I have now. In hindsight, I kinda wish I'd gone with silver, but I'm still totally ok with the gold 5S because it's shiny and the color is subtle. I'm going to upgrade to a 6S or 6S Plus and I'm considering going back to black because I find that both the gold and silver backs of the 6's are not as nice as they were on the 5S. For some reason they just seem duller and not as clean/shiny. The silver looks more like a slightly lighter version of space gray and the gold looks more like a dull yellow. So for the first time in 5 years I'll be sporting a black iphone. I DO hope they bring back the black-backed phone, as opposed to the "space gray" which is kinda blah.

None of this has anything to do with my gender, though. I've heard the old white iPhone is for women nonsense and it's nonsense. It's a telephone. There aren't any pink hearts on any of them (unless you buy that on a case, and in which case I'd STILL say if you're man enough to pull that off, go for it).

Don't let society dictate the colour of your phone. Pick whatever colour you want, and enjoy it. You are buying the phone, no one else is. So why should anyone care what colour it is.

Of course it is important what other people think of you. It is in our very nature. As a species we evolved largely on a social basis and some even say our big brains evolved for a big part, to be able to cope with complex social situations.

The nature of the question "is this phone too girly for a man" is just one of these complexities. We all apply our big brain logic to this question and come to the conclusion that we shouldn't care what others think. Quite a contrast eh? Actually it is not the "what do others think of me" question, but more the "others can see I have an unsecurity"-part, which is currently socially less accepted. People like other people (and themselves) to be secure, as this seems to be a sought after social standard.

So if you're actually saying "I'm insecure about social implications of choosing a specific iPhone color", others will actually mean to say: "don't be insecure, nobody likes that". It was never actually about the color. Pick whichever color you like, given the fact you may feel insecure for your entire ownership of it, unless you find a way to become more secure about it. This security however, will never really come when asking others for their opinion. It's all about making your own choices and stand by them.

Pretty much to echo what everyone else said but color is not a deciding factor on ones gender. With that being said I feel if you got the black one you would've wished that you got the gold one instead.

The bigger issue is adjusting to a white bezel. If you're OK with that, choose the color that makes you happy.

I'm scared the Gold looks too girly. I know its just an anecdote, but every person I've seen with a gold iphone outside of MacRumors has been a girl or in one case a feminine male friend of mine. I just don't want to give off the wrong impression with it.

Why even care what other people think, or may think, about you? You only live once so do whatever you want to do and never look back.

Only pastel pink will test how confident you are.

Not really. Try Swarovski.

It's not a feminine color, the rumored rose gold iPhone would be a feminine color but if you like it go for it.

You should get whatever the hell you want. Even if you want a hot pink case on your phone, if you like it ... go for it. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If you're going to spend the money these phones cost, it better be for the one you like the most.

I'd go with another color because the gold looks like sprayed on gold. Other than that there's nothing wrong with guys choosing gold if it looks premium like platinum gold or rose gold. I've never considered gold in the past but recently went with platinum gold because it looks unique over dark like black sapphire that I've always gotten and pearl white was a little bland compared to the other two.

Lots of judgement being passed around here! There's nothing wrong with caring about the image i project. Do you guys all wear disgusting clothes, never brush your hair, never take a shower? I didn't think so, you guys all care about what people think of you because thats human nature. So forgive me for being concerned that I might give the wrong impression with a rose gold phone that I've only seen girls and feminine men own.

I had the gold for my 5S but went to Space Grey for my 6 Plus.
Got kind of sick of all that gold with the white front pretty fast.
Is the gold coloured iPhone feminine?
I won't say definatively that it is, however, you can expect to be shunned by friends and even family when they see that massive chunk of gold bling in your hand.
Eventually, you will have to leave the town you know and love as you will be a social pariah.
OK, I'm exaggerating; get what YOU like, dude.

To be fair, those are fairly different things and compare about as much as apples compare to oranges.
