What will they do with the old 1 Infinite Loop one? It's iconic.

They'll leave the Mac Desktop teams in the old building. Every 3-5 years or so they'll check in with new Macs.

Eventually they'll forget they work there, but due to a glitch in the system they'll continue to be paid while the develop new Mac hardware that will never be released.

Let's hope they put some cameras on that thing, unlike the Pentagon on 9/11, just incase ISIL/CIA decide to go for a joy ride

So that's UNDER the parking deck or above it? My point is, shouldn't the deck be built before anything else?
The stuff you see in the video is the very bottom of the building, the foundation, the square part is most likely the earthquake shock absorbers and then above those there will be another level with the parking deck and other basement stuff :D

See the plans

Some details on the plans:
What you see in the video is the laying of the main foundation. Most of the space around the ring will go to 2 levels of parking, including the bottom level that's now half built. The expanded space nearest the camera will be service facilities and kitchens for the main cafeteria.
The square things are the forms for the concrete structural pillars to hold up the second layer of parking, plus the 4 floors of building above that.
Parking under the ring will hold about 4000 cars. Another 8000 will go in the separate parking garage next to the freeway (opposite end of the property).
For all these details and much much more, you can see and download the plans filed with the City of Cupertino at Cupertino.org/AppleCampus2. In particular, see the Documents with the Site Plan and Floor Plans.
Track the progress with frequent photos from KCBS Traffic Man Ron Cervi's Instagram page.

Nope, the bottom level that is now half built will not be used for parking, it is just the foundation (like the thread topic states). I marked it in red here:

The square things are earthquake dampers, not pillars, the pillars will not be anchored to the earth as that would neglect the effect of the earthquake dampers, the dampers can be seen in the picture above (between the foundation and the parking deck).

You can see the round absorbers in the video, above the squares to the right in the screenshot: http://f.cl.ly/items/0a440l25420V0h0M0c28/campusfoundation.png

Either this looks like a large chocolate cake or a big slice of pizza.

Either way. I'll get hungry if i fly over. I can do this from the comfort of my room, how convenient....

oh, now i'm hungry :p

Will there be a secret lair where Tim can sit while stroking a white cat?

I'll believe that. It's a bit like that now. so the rest will just fall into place on it's own. The only thing missing is a super-hero to save the day.

Where do we get one of those. Steve Ballmer ??

It is trespassing. I hope someone who works on site knocks it out the sky and confiscates it.

The fact this was probably done on a Sunday may be one thing. But that its posed online is another.. Apple will find out.

I'd like to try and see how Apple can control this.

Moat??

It is round....

Round like an apple, but are they gonna incorporate the missing "bite"???

Will this be visible from space?

Thank you. That's what I was missing. I forgot that Cali needs earthquake absorbers in the buildings. Makes sense now. :D

Very informative! Thank you very much. :D

Hope it gives them the capability to support pro apps and mac os

I hope the additional physical space and presumably capacity for various types of employees will give Apple the ability to properly support the pro apps and fix the OS. OS X still occasionally cannot find files on the local machine and rarely can it find them on the server or shared volumes. Open and Save commands take you wherever they want. Both of these functions worked perfectly in OS9. Aperture never interfaced with the OS like other apps (regarding shortcuts for saves and exports) or pressing the Return key to save/export/finalize. So they are getting rid of it. I remember the ad where some photographer at a famous horse-racing facility organized a ton of images in aperture representing his long history at the track. I wonder what he's thinking now. I know the upcoming photos is supposed to open the Aperture libraries and have more options than iPhoto. I doubt that I'll be able to use the eyedropper in CMYK with the selected CMYK color space as I can now do in Aperture. And it is totally not possible in LightRoom. Apple totally dropped Shake, watered down FinalCut and Logic Pro. I'd prefer to use Apple's computer and pro products to make content for the iPads and iPhones. Rant finished: the building looks nice.
