Most energy efficient "of its kind". Let take a quick tally of all of the other round glass 2.8million square feet buildings we can think of. Go! (not everyone all at once now :p)

Jeez, are we gonna see a post everytime the wall goes up by a couple feet? Roof? some grass being laid down?

Get a grip MR...

Macrumors should put a really clear word like "Construction" in the title of any post on this topic, to warn readers who would be harmed by accidentally clicking on it. Because you're right: this topic comes up constantly, at least twice a year. Somebody think of the children! :p

How long before reports of a delay because of a manufacturing problem?

Not going to happen. Other the exotic materials used, it should go up quickly. All the parts are fairly simple and created in assembly plants and shipped ready to assemble.

The fence is mainly for controlling dust during construction, not for privacy. SOP. When the building is completed I don't think the hand of Steve is going to appear from cosmos and un-shroud it like a new Apple product.

I wouldn't care what it looks like now but since I'm a huge Apple fan. It would be awesome to live right next to it's giant campus.

Even if you're not an Apple fan ...

... those property values just skyrocketed in the last couple years.

I would love to live in one of those houses right there next to it

You and a few hundred others. The neighborhood just north of the new Apple campus lies within is typically called Birdland Neighbors. The name comes from the original tract, 50's era, half to quarter acre lots with houses having bird's net built into the apex of the garage facing its street. These were built into the houses in a response to the "concrete jungle" of post war urban spiral at the time.

Considering who you talk to in the local real estate business, it is expected that real estate prices for this neighborhood may go up by 50% to 100% of the current value with proximity to the campus.

Unlike the Infinite Loop campus, which built a very imposing wall around the back of the campus separating the Cupertino neighborhood around Merritt Drive, this campus has major streets surrounding it allowing all the neighborhood direct access to the campus.

Talk about a retirement plan for those that bought in when the HP campus was "new" on the 60's in that same space Apple is building now.

I read the windows are going to be made of Sapphire but no consensus among analysts until the building is completed.

Are those walls gonna be the walls in the underground parking garage?

I'm just trying to get an idea about what we are seeing in that picture.

It would have been nice if someone had set up a camera somewhere to take a photo every day at noon, to be able to build a time-lapse video once it's completed.

Been told that not only are doing a single camera but they are doing 3D mapping of different spots on the campus during construction. This way you'll be able to see a 360 view of the place under construction in time lapse.

Oh don't worry, am sure there are plenty of cameras (professional and amateur) pointing at it for that sole purpose.

Honestly find this more exciting than any of the rumours about Apple's actual products.
