how about we take one of these pluses they keep destroying, and send it over here?

*patiently waiting nov 27 delivery date*

That stinks, I had a delivery date of 10/02-10-13 ended up getting my GFs white/silver Monday. And my Space Gray on Weds. From AT&T.

Excuse me mate, but premium doesn't mean stronger in an electronic device.
Its volume, being thinner, isn't much increased over the iPhone 5's. Same for the weight. And this with a bigger display and longer battery life.
In my opinion that means premium.

Strength and durability of a product are important to me in a premium product - especially in a portable electronic device. I respect if that is not as important to you. I was not asking for stronger - in fact the iPhone 6 I bought is 46% weaker than my iPhone 5 it is replacing. I will make adjustments to how I have carried it in the past due to this design change so the phone works fine for me.

My point is I don't like to see Apple products at the low end of any comparison that may matter to consumers. Some will gladly prefer the thinnest phone possible and they will treat it more delicately. But a phone selling tens of millions units needs to target a broad range of buyers who use it under varying circumstances. The new iPhones are near the bottom of phone durability results - not what I like to see.

I adore your logic :D

Premium means a more delicate device, like a delicate flower that must be treated with care.

And yet, we all know, without shadow of ANY doubt whatsoever, that if, after this test the Apple was the strongest in this test, and not 50% weaker than Samsung you would be SHOUTING.

Apple is premium, look how much higher quality it is that that cheap Samsung junk that broke 50% quicker.

:D

Amazing, I love the logic that's twisted around in any directions desperately trying to show Apple is best, regardless of where it comes in a test.

If Apple was in a race and they came last, I guess you would say, it's not about who came 1st, Apple may of come in as one of the last in the race, but they ran the race in a more quality way. :D

Wrong!! when the unibody macbook pro came out, no one of this site ever claim it had a superior build quaility;)

Ha! Certainly was a polite welcome from the crowd. I hate Samsung for what it is worth and are as big a fan boy as you can find.

Does this mean that this forum doesn't take kindly to new members?

You are welcomed as the owner of the first self bending phone of the world :D

So is everyone done arguing now? #

Done arguing??? Are you joking?? After 857 odd posts, we have only just started......

Why do you want to end the bozo fest?? I am loving reading all the warped (or should I dare say bent) logic of the spoilt first world citizens...

Ding ding!!! Next round please...

Was anyone claiming that the HTC was bending in their pockets? Or that the standard 6 was the one with the problems? Nope, which is why people are rightfully saying that this ends the controversy. The 6 Plus is stronger than two other phones that no one was complaining about.

The difference is that for some reasons there are millions of people who really, really want to find faults with iPhones, and apart from the few who were paid by Samsung (who was fined much more than $100,000 for that), there are no or few people who want to find faults with HTC phones.

I had the HTC One M8 before I got a 6 plus. Technically the M8 back is bent to give it a optical illusion that it's thinner that it really is. It desent lay flush on the table it will rock back and forth.

So technically the HTC One M8 is bent too
So is everyone done arguing now?

On the contrary, the rage of the android fanboys will only multiply after this.

Watch the video from the Re/code blog where they visited a testing center for the 6 and 6 Plus. Apple subjected 15,000 units each of the 6 and 6 Plus to thousands of repetitions of sitting tests, three point tests, torsion tests, etc. If it makes the grade for durability in those, you have nothing to worry about for standard use. The torsion tests alone are an eye-opener...the phones are being twisted in a way that is unlikely to ever happen in real life, and are not damaged by it.

No one claimed the iPhone 6 Plus bends at its center. There are reports and proof in internet that the iPhone 6 Plus bends at the upper top.

Now we have a report that the Plus does not bend at the center. That's hillarious.

I am a very happy 6 Plus owner and I love this phone. But you have to test against the claims.

This. Sigh... There is SO much confirmation bias going on in this thread. When the apple fanboys see something that confirms their "Apple is the best because Apple is the best, mkay" view, they immediately jump on board without any critical reflection whatsoever. It's science! Finally! The other guy is a fraud! --but the jury is still out, since this test didn't really look at the very specific weak spot in the iPhone 6 plus. Grow up, will ya fanboys?

Before you jump up and down, check the report first. Samsung and LG scored better in the test. They tested Samsung, LG, Apple and HTC phones. HTC was the worst. You are complaining about fans not being objective, right?

It's a test that is totally irrelevant because nobody but a total idiot gets their phone into a situation where it is anywhere close to being bent.

This is the ultimate bendgate video: uncut, new iphone, in public, with witnesses.

I wonder what Apple's reaction to this will be.

#BendGate is here to stay

:D
New iPhone? Says whom? Did you ever seen the splash screen of a new iPhone after unboxing it?
In public? Who knows the force applied on the iPhone, if that was an iPhone, and on the Moto X?

It is very credible for a casual user to go outside, buy an iPhone, and then destroy it in public in front of a camera. Especially if you are paid by someone....

It seems to me nowadays in this forum at least is that "premium" just means a metal casing which is maybe 5% of the total cost of the phone. That's too pathetic.

To me premium means having 3gb of ram, infra red port or having functionalities that the other phone doesn't have.

Wonder why we never see that phone being bought and taken out of a sealed box in an uncut video??
Because for those who refuse to believe, even a full-length, single-cut documentary of a phone being manufactured at Foxconn, packaged, shipped, unpacked at an Apple store, same phone being unboxed and bent would not be enough proof. That's why.

I can't believe members are defending apple on this.
The company has made a lot of terrible decisions recently and this is one of them.
A phone that cost me £619 and another £100 for AppleCare+ and leather case shouldn't need treating with kid gloves. It should be something that I don't have to worry about where I place it or treat it.
Mine will be going back for a refund before the fourteen days end.
Apple made their decision on engineering and design and what they feel is best but I'm making my decision on what I feel is more important on a mobile device and engineering should always be over design.

Isn’t that what I said?
If you bought a hammer and then they brought out a newer lighter, thinner and bigger hammer, (so what if it’s used to hit things), you’d still expect that newer hammer to be able to knock the same nails in, unless they expressly told you otherwise.

I will admit that if you want to hammer in nails, you shouldn't use an iPhone. Samsung phones are much better for hammering nails.

Normal use would be over the course of 2 years for many people.

All we have is relative force required to bend iphone 6 vs iphone 5.
I've thrown my own iPhone 5 onto the wall several times and know that the thing is very solid.
iPhone 6, it seems, I will have to be more careful with.

Throw a phone onto the wall, while stupid, has nothing to do with its torque resistance.

You didnt read the article, huh?

How the *** is that real world testing? Nobody does that with their phone. And anybody who does needs to have their head examined. I'd love to know where this guy is getting all these 6 Pluses since they're supposedly so difficult to find right now.

China. There are a lot of fake iPhone there :D

Bendgate Status: Closed

Closed for thinking people maybe, but the genie is unleashed and now, millions of people who barely know what an iPhone is, thinks its a bending joke. The damage is done.

But we know the iPhone 6 was too successful for certain elements to just let it go.

You didnt read the article, huh?

I did read it and the pressure used to bend the 6 is what I consider not good enough.
The damage to Apple has been done and they deserve it.
Premium price needs a premium device and the 6 isn't it.

It's quite amusing now to see that 10 pages since my post people are still going hammer and tongs on this forum.

I wonder how many forum members contributing to this post are engineers with direct experience of forced pressure?

Probably not many as there are fandroid trolls.

Well that's because you're a nerd
