Do you know of any other less bulkier cases? The otterbox from my iPhone 4 collected a lot of dust on the speaker portion. I used to use lifeproof but it became useless when I would always lose the headphone jack piece from listening to music with headphones...

No, I don't. I believe there is a iPhone 6 case thread in the phone forum. Maybe someone there can be of help. Good luck.

There ARE other pockets suitable for iPhones: suit jacket or sport coat inner pockets, lab coat pockets, to name just two.

I normally don't wear suit jackets/sport coats. Nothing wrong with them, they look great on a lot of guys and probably on me, but I'm more of a minimalist jeans and t-shirt guy.

Lab coat? I wear one at work, but it would be hazardous to wear it in the wild. I suppose I could get one for my personal use. Just wear it in public, you say?

This is one of the primary reasons I abandoned my Note II. I had a number of issues with it - and anytime I went and asked about the problems, I'd get called an Apple fanboy (even though I was asking about MY Note 2).

I had nowhere to turn.

In some ways - if Bendgate were true - I'd still be miles better off, because a shared problem is easily solved, my Note II problems were mine in isolation.

Called Apple fanboy due to Note 2-problems?
Where???

Give it up and don't waste your time arguing with certain people here ... Some would even deny that there could be the slightest possibility of bending iPhones in "normal" use, even if it would be the case with their own ones and instead come up with conspiracy theories like competitors paying the Apple manufacturers money to use rigged material in the production process to make the iPhone weaker and such "crap" ...

During Normal use it can't bend. That's a fact

No, it doesn't bend extremely easily near the volume buttons. I have one. It is rigid. I don't feel like ruining my phone, but I'm quite confident that to bend a 6+ one would have to assert a lot of force.

Just because you have one you can prove all the videos out there are false? I also have one but I'm not going to be stupid to test the bending theory myself.

You look a bit silly stating "No, you're wrong! You're wrong because... apple tells me so"

Look, I've been using the iPhone since the 4 series. Instead of going thinner, I wanted Apple to focus less on that and focus more on battery life. Unfortunately, they went thinner and cost durability. Instead of people defending Apple so much, I wish more people would agree with me that Apple should just learn from this mistake and push out a more re-enforced phone with either the 6S or 7. With the 4, they had radio issues and it was widely reported. They fixed this with the 4s. Apple is not perfect and they do make mistakes. As long as they learn from these mistakes, I have no issue.

Those are nice cases! Anyplace I could buy it besides online?

Good question, I think I'll send them an email about it.

Hope they're as good as they look. I like the rubberized bumper in combination with the wood, should be good for drops/shock protection.

When will people get it? Samsung, Google and others do this EVERY single iPhone release. They try and find fault then post a bunch of videos and make it known to the press.

End result? Apple dominates the sales again....

I almost always dropped my 5 and 5s with a case every time I got out of my car . Now I don't drop it because it's too big to sit in my lap and text and drive. So a case with a solid backing and beautiful features would be appreciated.

I don't think he's saying because apple tells him so. He's saying because two independent third parties who actually did scientific testing told him so.

As many have mentioned, there's probably four people in this thread that have posted pictures of their bent phones.

The rest of the people are people who don't even have the phone

This is not a widespread issue. It is good for 2000+ posts on a forum though lol

No real proof whatsoever that this can happen with normal use.

This is correct. Normal use of the phone will not bend the phone in any way. This is quite obvious however since I assume you're not abusing your phone while using it.

The worry is that when placing the phone in pockets or accidentally placing stress on it. It becomes more worrying than before.

I don't think he's saying because apple tells him so. He's saying because two independent third parties who actually did scientific testing told him so.

Two scientific studies that are flawed in that they're testing the middle of the phone and not the weak point. How does the public "lie" about bent phones when the process is video taped in public with multiple witnesses? Consumer Reports confirms the phone is a bit sturdy near the middle of the phone. I think we can all agree with that. However, they haven't really said anything about the weak point theory, which is the cause of the whole "bend gate" craze going on right now. What do scientific testing results do when they're not even addressing the problem?

My iphone 6 is going back anyway. I dropped it (which was my fault) on concrete and the edges are now shredded and jagged. Now its not comfortable at all to hold. The screen didn't break, and that's an honest testament to apple; nevertheless, this thing is too delicate for my lifestyle. Luckily, I guess, it has a screen defect where parallel lines show on the right side of the panel, so it was going back anyway. But man, GET A CASE, PEOPLE, or don't be clumsy like me.

I have high hopes for the iphone 7 - sapphire glass on the front and back with reinforced backplate and the thickness of the plastic of the iphone 4.

For now it'll be sub $300 android phones for this guy.

The "problem" has only been demonstrated by people purposely bending the phone. No one has shown this happening through normal use.

The Wired review was clear enough:

'Like a lot of people, I have a bent iPhone 6 Plus. It’s almost imperceptible, but it’s there: a slight warp right at the buttons on the side. Put the phone screen down on a table, and it wobbles.'
http://www.wired.com/2014/09/iphone-6-plus-review/

That's a defective, or slightly defective, unit. Nothing to do with phone bent just keeping in front pocket.

Wow, talk about a straw man. All I said is it doesn't bend EXTREMELY EASILY. And nothing in any of the videos shows anything to the contrary. If you want to be a jerk, go pick on someone who actually said the thing you want to argue about.

Apparently you haven't been keeping up on current events.

um, ok neither have you? You've said nothing. Stop talking in code and be out with it.

It is? How do you know? Because you say so? What about this guy e.g.? He is lying?

His phone was bent before he put the video up and he stated he "bent it back"

We don't know how it was originally bent. Not saying he's lying, just saying you can't believe everything you see on YouTube.

This is a perfect example of the irrationality of corporate worship. You bring up the proof, then rationalize it away with a few lines and a "no real proof" statement. Why would you want to pledge feality to a corporation in such a way? Why is it so important to you for the 6+ not to have a design flaw?

I acknowledge the flaw yet I've ordered a 6+. I believe with a rigid case and careful treatment it's a reasonable gamble, but I'd be a lot happier with Apple if they hadn't made the 6+ a gamble. If it self-destructs on me, I'll consider a permanent move to Android. I like both Android and iOS - the only reason I favor iOS is that I love OS X and Android doesn't integrate as nicely as iOS.

He made the video to demonstrate how he thinks the iPhone was bent in the first place...
"Since you guys don't know what the problem is with the front pocket I show you..."

Why do you guys automatically go into "you must be a sheep" mode whenever someone disagrees with you? It's so idiotic, and instead of disputing what I'm saying you're resorting to stupid generalizations. If you're unable to hold a conversation without actually disputing what's being said, then don't reply

Again. I can post a picture of a destroyed phone and say "yeah this happened in my front pocket". It means nothing. I asked someone else in this thread and I'll ask you. Why are you dismissing Square Trade and CR's test and blindly believing some pictures that people you don't even know posted on the internet AFTER their phones were already bent?

I like Android on my phone far more than I like iOS. I don't have an iPhone, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon. I just don't go into mass hysterics because the internet told me my phone will bend when i walk around with it in my pocket. No one has shown any proof that their phones bend with normal use. Not a single person. Are you disputing that?

He made the video to demonstrate how he thinks the iPhone was bent in the first place...

Yes, I understand that. We don't know how it bent in the first place though...

Finally, someone gets it.

I'm in the same boat. I've been using Apple products, I ordered the 6+, and I do have a case on it. It's just frustrating to see Apple make mistakes in a high priced phone. It's even more frustrating to see people defend Apple for making the mistake. Apple isn't perfect, just accept it and move on.
I just don't go into mass hysterics because the internet told me my phone will bend when i walk around with it in my pocket.

You're exaggerating the argument. It's not that it's going to bend as soon as you walk with it, it's the fact that it's so structurally weak in the first place. Previous iPhones were built quite sturdy, why couldn't the iPhone 6 been built as sturdy as well? Is being the thinnest phone worth it?
