I often wondered if not buying a full frame Nikon was holding me back or if my pictures were suffering from not having the right gear.
Clearly I needent of worried....

Angry swan is coming to get you. I will admit to squealing like Homer J. Simpson and running like a little girl from this possessed bird...

You indeed have a hard time with bad pictures.for your viewing pleasure
despite the lack of focus this is bad all the way. Well done!Angry swan is coming to get you. I will admit to squealing like Homer J. Simpson and running like a little girl from this possessed bird...View attachment 476151
You indeed have a hard time with bad pictures.
Again those are not bad per se but merely out of focus.
You still have to present something that has bad composition, bad lighting, a boring subject and maybe slightly off focus. All your images have this flaire of talent surrounding them.
The bar has been set pretty low. i am trying to keep it that wayoh so chopped heads, crooked angles, white balance misfires, indoor to outdoor-from lit to dark; reflection infested images are not bad enough for you?
boy, do you know anything about bad photography?

This image is flawed, but come on! I am sure you can do worse.VI™;19226048 said:Photos like this bug me. Sure I used a $500 speedlight, but it was the wrong type of equipment for the shot, so the subject is under exposed and I over processed the sky with some hope of compensating for it. But when you're traipsing all around town to shoot, it's not practical to carry the big lights. I need a little red wagon with really big tires.

... Now thats what I am talking about! Simply terribleNot enough bad flash photos!
This is from the initial series I shot when I was thinking about starting this thread:

Puts the second photo in my original post into context.... It could have been *much* worse![]()
Miscellaneous flawed images.
MK-01: not only WTF is going on, but just about everything else.
MK-02 and MK-05: landscape photography requires careful attention to light, composition, and focus.
MK-03: because before you saw only one of my feet
MK-04: because what's really important is how nicely-woven the shirt is.

I didnt want to be as blunt, but you are right.Man that picture screams "this is gonna hurt...". The perspective makes it look like he is about to wipeout on the grass mid twist. It isnt even close to being bad enough to feature in this thread... IMHO.
Out of focus, morbid, gross... damn thats messed up. God-awful shot!I was trying to get a close-up of a bee on my screen. Not only is it way blurry, but I realized after shooting that the bee was dead!
Good example of bad photography! Thanks for sharing! You guys crack me up! There's certainly some horrible examples here![]()
Let me add to the collection... something I haven't seen yet in this thread... an example of what not to do during a long exposure

Maybe it's just me, but normally any of my more horrible RAW files never see the light of day. I either delete them on the camera, or when I load them to Lightroom I will delete them.

I tend to save most of my photos, even the bad ones. I have a little bit of a hoarder in me--sometimes the bad photos just serve as a reminder of a point in time and I can recall that specific date and place when looking at them. Sometimes the bad photos serve as reminders in a different sense--what *not* to do. Very rarely they serve as an inspiration to try something new.
I think you posted this tongue-in-cheek, which is fine. It made me chuckle when I read it. Not because you posted it regarding your images, but because there is truth in your statement which has applied to me at some point(s) and I think also applies to many others....

While I agree that "painting with light" during a long exposure can produce some horrible images, it can also be a fun thing to play with.
While this might be seen as equally bad (or possibly even worse!), it holds a soft spot in my heart as one of my favorite abstracts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
