ALSO, received an email from them regarding this whole delay with the case and here is what they wrote to me:

"I am sorry that you have had to wait for these cases. It is in FACT true that Apple decided to put all third party cases through numerous tests for the iphone 4. We were unable to sell ANY until Apple gave final approval. Now that the approval has come in and customs has cleared the cases, we do have most of them in stock. Please go to retail.contourdesign.com to check these out.

Although not available on our site, we do have a few Showcases for this available through phone orders as well.

Thank you"

That's total crap, obviously...considering the fact that there's sites selling cases for 99 cents etc, I can pretty much guarantee those weren't approved by apple. You can make whatever case you want with no approval, you just can't stamp on it the "Made for iphone" logo.

By the time these cases come out the iPhone 4.5 or 5 will be out. Seriously, was it this much of a wait for iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G accessories? I bought my iPhone 2G months after it came out, and then the 3GS (which was compatible with 3G accessories) so this iPhone 4 waiting business is a shock to me (waited for Powersupport films as well). Had the showcase for two versions so far. Eagerly awaiting to do another round, but it's quite obvious that they don't really need my money .

I have to give h1r0ll3r sincere thanks for posting the contact number and new information. I've been looking for a case similar to the showcase and there just isn't one.

Saw this info on Saturday and called them today. I should get the case by Thursday. It was a little over $50, and FedEx shipping was ~$11, so the case itself is around $39. Hopefully this slightly higher price reflects build quality. It won't be long before we find out.

If someone does not post packing and close-up pics, I will. I'll be looking for mold lines, alignment issues, hinge quality and plug compatibility with the video cable.

No prob. Mine is expected to arrive either Tues or Wed this week. I'll, most likely, create a new thread for the "review" for this case so I'll take into account all of your must-haves for this case. Hopefully the wait will have been worth it.
