Thanks ChrisA! My computer is very old and although somethings have been upgraded but not significantly. I have 1 gig of ram in it but iTunes still stutters if I load a webpage, I cannot make movies efficeintley, My photos probably need attention and I have no iPhoto-y software for that type of thing, The Sims 2 runs awful. In fact the GMA 950 could probably run the Sims 2 better than my GeForce 4200 Ti, even though it was a good card. In 2002 anyway! It can barely drive my monitor at 1680x1050!

This computer was a hombuilt machine and does not have any restore discs. Besides my father is tech-savvy enough to have figured out what I did. Another reason to get a Mac: My wireless won't work. At all. He thinks it's a hardware problem,but I think it is Windows itself.I think he is scared of Macs because they are new to him and he probably has never used one and is afraid of what he does not know.

is your family in a position to just throw over $1000 towards a computer just because there kid wants it? sure all these excuses are great but if your family isnt in a financial position to do this its pretty much useless... i tried and my dad told me to get a job, so i got a summer job and i bought an iMac! and im 15! working hard to get what you want is much more rewarding then simply asking your dad for the cash!
So remind him that all Intel Macs can run Windows too. Had any spyware/virus infections/scares?

Just get your homepage hijacked by CoolWebSearch, when he formats (or finds the uninstaller (which is easy to find now
)) just keep gettin it again. Say, "Dad, if I had a Mac, this wouldn't happen." When he tells you he thinks you are doing it on purpose tell him you think you were adopted. This will disorient him, during this time talk to your Mom and say that your Dad said you were adopted. Whn your parents get divorced, you can have what you want.I had it easy. The only thing I had to convince my parents of was to let me borrow their car to go to the Apple Store. And that didn't even need convincing, it was:
"Hey, where are the keys to the car? I'm going to the Apple store"
"Here they are, be careful"

To thechris69:I think your story is inspiring but if I wanted to get a job I almost certainly could get an application because I look a couple of years older than I really am but once they see my age they won't hire me.
